Hello All

Hello everyone, I am very excited to join your forum. At my age it's nice to be called a kitten again too.

I am 36 years old and live in Canberra Australia. I have always had cats for as long as I can remember and will always have them in my life.

I have recently taken it further with the intension of becoming a breeder of Russian Blues. Now before everyone jumps down my throat no I am not a B.Y.B. I value you knowledge and impute and can only hope I may be able to share mine.

So to my fur family ……

Once I figure out how to get the pictures up I will show them off.

My Harry (a big boof head of a Ginger tom) with his beautiful markings, He is desexed and a bit of a sook. He loves to sit on the bathroom sink with me and watch while I do my make-up or brush my teeth. When my head is out the way he then scoops up the water into his mouth as if imitating me when I rinse. He loves to head butt and talks loudly. He wakes me up every night between 3-4am as he wants to go outside. This is becoming a nightmare, as I don’t like letting them out at night. So we sit on the couch for a while till he goes back to sleep. He hates strangers and hides whenever anyone enters my home. His favourite sitting spot is along my thigh and he likes to make sure I don’t move by holding onto my kneecap with his huge claws. My darling Haley a motley Tortie/Tabby rescued from a shelter. She was the tiniest thing and after being home 3 days developed severe flu. She went into the vet’s weighing 600grms and came out the other side at 400grms. I didn’t think she would make it. But she did and has become the funniest thing. Her favourite sitting spot is on my chest or side. She goes skitso when the mobile phone rings, and loves me to death. I have shed many tears with the sudden and shocking passing of my mother (57) the end of February, Health issues including the latest news about not being able to have kids and she has been there for me, hugging me, meowing and patting my face and just laying on me with her head in her paws staring into my eyes.

Recently a friend did some raki (spelling?) on me and Haley jumped right in, sitting on different spots on my body and doing little chirpy noises. I also have a stray under my care that is pregnant. I am nursing her and she is doing really well. She loves to eat with me and insists on her fair share of vegemite toast in the mornings. Amy is the most adorable thing full of character. She is calico coloured with some Persian by the looks of it. She always greats me with an out stretched paw which I have to take in my own hand and shake. Amy won't leave me alone and follows me everywhere. Her favourite sitting spot is anywhere the other 2 aren't. I will be desexing her as soon as the kittens are old enough for her to be away. Around 7 weeks, she is so funny when she tries to lie on my lap, it’s as if she doesn’t quite know what to do and regularly falls off. I have so many scratches on my legs now. Last night while she lay there I felt the kittens move so have made sure her nesting box is ready. I My neighbour said she saw her with a grey Persian so with Amy’s fluffiness and his they will be beautiful. I'd love to keep them all.

Then my new arrival a Russian Blue baby. She is only 5 weeks old so I have to wait another 5-6 weeks before I can hold her, love her and get my other 3 to accept her. Yikes so much to do so little time. God I can't wait I am so excited. I need to name her so any help would be most appreciated. I just can't contain myself.

So that’s a bit about my fur family and me. I look forward to learning all about yours.

I am sorry this is so long I promise not to post long ones again.

Thank you Patty sorry I posted such a long intro, when I saw what it looked like I got quite embarrased.

Hi again, Bundylee. Don't worry about length. Some of us like to read! My late father was a 2nd degree reiki. Some of the healing power of this ancient art is fascinating!

Please never be ashamed of a short or long post. What we share here are our passions, and certainly that never can be wrong!

Don't be embarrassed! We love hearing about new members and their babies. We also beg shamelessly for pictures. If you have any, we would love to see them. Good luck to the mommy-to-be. Give her a scratch on the head and a pat on the tummy for us.

Really, honest, don't be ashamed of long posts. You should see some of mine! We all get going when it comes to talking about our furbabes. Just shows how much you love them and love talking about them. (OK, that's the excuse I use anyway!) Your little family sounds just wonderful. I look forward to getting to know you, your kitties and soon-to-be-born kittens, and your new Princess Russian Blue (they just have an air of Royalty, don't they?)

I just love this breed, I am trying to come up with a good name for her and also because I want to show her and maybe breed (not sure yet) I need a breeders name also. Not as easy as I thought. They really are like ballet dancers and very royal so I have been looking at all the Russian names and Russian ballet dancers. Ah the decisions.

When I saw her picture on the other threads, the first name I thought of was Grace, as in Princess Grace of Monoco. She is a beauty, and she looks like she has a bit of mischeif in her, too. That's just me though. There are plenty of Royal families to choose names from if that's a route, and lots of Russian history with some beautiful names in that.

My friend said that cat's had a lot of healing power and it was the weirdest thing, Hayley just lay on differant spots of my body and moved every time my friend worked on a differant spot. She would sit on me and put her paw on top of my friends hand also. Hayley and I do share a special bond that I can't quite explain. it's as if we have known each other our whole lives. (I know that sounds weired) She just seems to be on a higher level.

Thanks krazy kat2

Amy has now had a pat on the head from you. She told me to let you know her back was hurting and her feet needed a rub. :-) Seriously I am worried as she is such a tiny thing. Her tummy is almost down to the floor and that can't be good. I wish I had found her a long time ago, I think she wishes it too. Such a lady to look at but such a tart
Pictures coming up soon.
