Oh - glad to hear he's a little better. Is the runny nose etc. all part of this? My daughter had something like that once. It was a food allergy.

Also, we did have an incident where my son got terrible hives and we never did figure it out (except he'd been on our couch with no shirt on.) I think he was about 4 or 5. It never happened again...

Vibes and more vibes for Brandon - TCS vibes are the best!

Again, thank you so much everyone
The vibes truly are helping. He is almost completely cleared up. Still a cough and runny nose though. They don't think the cold is connected to the hives. He's spending the day with Grandma and Grandpa today. They are so excited to see him

poor Brandon! That's so tough when they're so little, cause they just don't understand what's going on with them.... It sounds like an allergic reaction to me....that's how I get with certain meds.... I hope this never happens to him again!

Brandon has to go to the doctor tomorrow to get his booster flu shot. He had one a month ago and now has to get a booster
I don't know why they can't put it in one shot like they do for adults, this is why I'm not a doctor

Glad Brandon is feeling better, and I hope his cold clears up soon too. It's tough for little people.

Well, I'm not a doctor, but I am an immunologist (science, though, not medical), so I'll try to explain as best I can. Basically, you get a lot more immune system action with multiple exposures. Also, the immune system responds a little bit better and faster with the second and third exposures. When the real flu bug comes around, you want to make sure that you get the best and fastest reponse possible, so you don't get sick. Did that make sense?

Yes it did. Thank you so much for the explanation. They had me wondering for a whole month. I should've just asked you

awww i'm glad he is better. That happened to my daughter last year too. It was very scary and we also never figured it out. I was just glad she fell asleep in the ER. I could see the hives getting worse and worse before my eyes

Nothing worse than having one of your kiddos sick.

That's an awesome explanation!!!
I was wondering why the kitten had to get a booster every 2-3 weeks for distemper....I imagine it's the same principles....
