Hello everyone, I'm new here. I live in Philadelphia. Our house has five cats...

Shadow is a 14 year old solid black cat who was looking foward to a quiet retirement until all these new cats invaded the house. She's handled it pretty well.

Jessie is an orange striped alley cat who we took in a year ago during a hail storm. Two weeks later she had kittens in our laundry room. She's very grumpy and a bit hostile when other cats are around. Our intern loves her, though.

Bully is one of Jessie's kittens. He's also orange striped. He's likes to be picked up and ride on shoulders and chase bedmice and crawl into small boxes and is overall a great cat with a great personality.

Mamacat is a black & white tuxedo alley cat who had kittens in the spring. I found homes for the kittens but nobody showed interest in her. She's really nice, though, and I hope that one of our friends will adopt her soon.

Fanny is a black & white tuxedo stray who got caught in my elderly neighbor's fan belt and broke her leg. She's recuperating in my living room. Most of my posts will be about her!

Hi!!!

Welcome to TCS!!! I am in Philly too! If you have any ?'s or need help around the forums feel free to PM me!!! I don't know if all of your kitties are spayed/neutered, but I know of a great animal organization here in Philly that offers low cost sp/nt's as well as vaccinations & micro chipping....I've had both of my babies done through them, and they did a wonderful job! (as well as putting up with one crazy cat momma=me!
) I have a tuxie too! Maybe soon enough you'll be getting pictures up of your sweet babies?!?!?!

Hey Philly Felines:

Welcome to TheCatSite! Glad you found us here and hope you enjoy the site and forums as much as we do. THANK YOU from the bottom of our heart for rescuing these wonderful cats. We'd love to see pix (the Sticky's at the top of the page of posts has how-to's and instructions)!

Can't you keep Mamacat? Sounds like she has a loving home with you...you mention an intern. Are you guys a rescue op, or what? POOR FANNY! Am I glad she found you! Sigh of relief...

We are 9! rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered of course! felines, and one devoted human servant. There are four hens as well. We hope to see you onsite a lot, and look forward to pix? and updates!

I help run a small environmentalist non-profit. The cats just make me happy (and poor!). But this house-office is quite small (and so is our budget) and five people plus five cats is very crowded, especially when two of them are territorial momcats.

Jessie hates living with other cats, and makes her displeasure known daily. Mamacat is pretty hostile herself - tore Shadow's cornea a few months ago.

Bully is happy-go-lucky & could live with anyone, and Shadow is a quiet and retiring cat, but the mothers are impossible!

Except for Fanny, they are all fixed. But there's a grey & white maybe-tomcat hanging around and my neighbor spotted a cream colored kitten near where Fanny got in trouble (maybe a sibling?), so I'll be needing some cheap spay/neuter options!

Pictures eh?

Shadow photographs about as well as a black hole - she sucks in all the light!

I have pictures of Fanny & Momcat at http://www.actionpa.org/kittens/

Pictures of Jessie & her kittens (Bully is refered to as K3) are at http://www.actionpa.org/kittens/babies.html

(Warning - some of the kitten pictures are terminally cute - make sure you are free to say "awwwwww!" before visiting the second link.)

Enjoy!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW?

Did you say, "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"?

MEGA-AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
would be my bet!
There is too much cuteness there to be contained in one universe -- especially tiny grey, dark tortie, Mamacat and Fanny!
(I never met a cat I didn't love, but I DO have a predilection toward black and dark cats. They, to me, are by far the most beautiful!)

I am so glad the adoptions are going well. And I'm very glad the orange man is staying with your family!

You must be very happy and proud. To say nothing of extremely busy!

welcome aboard, wish I could handle more kitties, but I learned my limit the hard way.
I am in the philly western suburbs. I know of several other no kill shelters in case you need help.
