Is it normal for a kitten to have a higher body temp than cats? I don't have a thermometer to check the temp but the kitty seems hotter to the touch than the adults especially when he is active.

He is also going soft now. The first few days he was fine. Would you think the can or dry food would do this?

If the kitten is more active than the adults, that will cause his temp to increase a little. Their normal body temps range from 100.5 F - 102.5 F, so they will naturally feel warm to the touch. The only accurate way is to take the temp rectally.

Has he had a fecal exam checked recently? That would be the first step that I would recommend, then go from there. Sometimes canned food or a abrupt change in diet will cause soft stools. Better to check with your vet first though.

Thanks for replying. We took the stool over tonight and no worms. She wants another sample in a month for his 2nd round of shots
