I thought this was funny until I read this:
"I'm just glad he at least reprimanded him," she said. "He used to be a good boy. It has done emotional harm to me. ... I was the one who was tortured." "Emotional harm"!?!? "Tortured"?!?! What a joke and a huge waste of the courts time! People will sue for anything these days. Those hecklers were suing "Kramer" for causing 'emotional harm' as well. Just today Evel Knievel stated he was suing Kanye West for his video that "damages Knievels image"... This is legalized extortion!

Granted, Michael Richards was dead wrong for what he did and Kanye West is a spoiled brat who can't accept that just because his video cost tons of money and had hot girls and cool special effects (other than Pam Andersons boobs) doesn't mean its good! But what makes anyone think it gives them the right to punish someone else because they were personally offended? Are we gonna sue every jerk who flips us off in the parking lot? What about people who wear clothes that we think should be in Glamours 'Blackbar' list? Or what if someone is wearing your signature hairstyle? Should you have a right to sue? *sigh* Whats the world coming to???

Well yeah, but this is where the world has gone to.

Back when I was young (about 19) and cute, some jerk where I was a summer intern grabbed me in what I considered an inappropriate manner. This was well before making any kind of a lewd remark was considered "sexual harassment".

Well I don't mind a rude joke and can be as crude as the best of them (went to engineering school) but I told the guy if he ever laid his filthy hands on me again I would rip his arm out at the socket. He of course left me alone. I suppose nowadays I could have sued for bug buckos.

The 14 yr old was being a jerk (I'm sure he 'meowed' more than two times) and the old lady has problems. And for all we know, the family was being crappy about letting their cat go everywhere. Still I am amazed that this passes for news.

For Pete's sake - that makes me want to go to this lady's house and meow at her continuously. Set up recordings of many cats meowing that loop continuously, and play it outside her window all night long.

Seriously, I would have meowed at her too, and it makes me REALLY angry to see court time and municiple dollars wasted on people like this.

Pity help her if she had my Rosie meowing at her!. I get seriously irritated with people like that woman, as if theres not more important things to worry about in the world!

She's lucky she doesn't live nextdoor to me that's all i can say, because i'd be the neighbour from hell after hearing that.

LOL! She would HATE me come feeding time

The part I don't like is how she got rid of her cat for doing whats NATURAL!!! Did she ever think to just put a tray of litter in a corner outside somewhere?

I also don't like that she's wasting taxpayers time and money on this garbage. If she felt harrassed, just call the police. Why take it all the way to court? Sounds like she was fishing...

Guess that old Evel can't stand being out of the limelight. After all, he's too old and busted-up for stunting and he hasn't beaten anyone with a baseball bat, in YEARS

How ridiculous. What a waste of taxpayers' money and the court's time.

And I think it's awful that they `got rid of their cat' because it used her flower garden `as a litter tray'. Keep the cat inside for pete's sake! Sounds like they're ALL morons.

I have more sympathy for the Evel copyright infringement case, at least his has some legal standing!

I think this judge is as stupid as the woman who complained!! The judge said the boy was "immature" for what he had done. Well duh!! The boy is only 14. To bad I didn't live next to her. Carmelo could have used her flower box and really given her something to complain about

It sounds as if the boy was trying to get back at the neighbor for causing his family to get rid of the family's cat IMO, the mother should be ashamed of herself for allowing her son's cat to be kicked out of the family! So mom is irate at the judge for not dismissing this in August; sounds like misplaced guilt to me---she should have worked harder to solve the problem, like maybe keep the cat inside
