In the past, do you tend to put on a few pounds during the holidays?
YES!!!!! I buy too many treats and eat too much for a good 10 days. This year will be different-I'm walking about 2.75 miles/day and have lost 9 pounds-I don't want it coming back.
Not really....I just watch what I eat and try to have a variety of healthy things on my plate and only a few treats. I don't starve myself though- i eat what i want, and when i'm full, i stop

oh yeah, for like 3 years in a row I gained a size over the holidays it was an accumulation from the whole year that just seemed to go over the edge at the holidays doesn't help that I stuff my face at Thanksgiving and Christmas either I no longer take Christmas cookies home though

Don't hate me but no...I've actually tried to gain weight because I am pretty thin and I can't.

Try drinking, Boost, Ensure, or Slim Fast with your meals. (slim fast, if drunk with food will make you gain weight). That's what my niece did when she was pregnant- she weighed 85lbs and just couldn't gain weight even though she ate everything in sight. With the help of those drinks, she gained a healthy amount of weight

Thanks...I've tried Boost and Ensure (Ensure tastes pretty bad IMO), but I don't think I was consistent enough with it. Boost can be expensive.

Yep Can't pass up the o-dourves! Did I spell that right? And when I was pregnant during the holidays in 2004, I really put on the pounds
post #9 of 28
Absolutely!!!

I never used to weigh myself, just have gotten bigger every year, not necc. at any perticular time though! So far this year though I have not!
Oh yes! Between 10 and 15 in the past.
Yep! But not this year! Weight watchers won't let me!
Uhhh that would be a YES!

What do you mean in the past?
Honestly, I have been packing on the pounds and it's depressing.
I've hit 130 and haven't been that for a LONG time. So I'm TRYING to be good but it's SO hard with all that yummy food I don't usually get at other times of the year.
After the holidays I vow to loose all the weight I gained though.

I second that on the Ensure- it's aweful. (some of the slim fast stuff tastes better though)

No I don't think I will I ate that whole pumpkin cheesecake, I doubt that Holiday dinner will hurt to bad. I used to eat a pint of Baskin Robbins Chocolate everyday just not good for the blood fat
post #22 of 28
Not really. I work out hard and I try to eat right. Not that I don't have treats; I have them in moderation.
I did every year but last year...last year was my first year on Weight Watchers, and I actually lost weight over the holidays. (Things aren't looking as good for this year so far, though. )
I think in the past I've just put on pounds in general! I think I eat well durring the holidays, but I'm not horrible about splurging.
Yes- but this year I have no plans to give up smoking so hopefully it won't stay on

Everytime I quit smoking I put on a stone and its a nightmare getting it off
post #26 of 28
You know, I honestly don't know. I don't think I do, but if I do gain weight, I've never noticed it before. (I just kind of ballooned up over the space of a year, so I guess a few pounds here and there wouldn't be noticeable.)

My goal this year -- since I started Weight Watchers in October -- is to continue losing weight, even during the holidays. If I keep up the pace I've been going, I'll reach my 10% goal by New Years (I'll have lost 10% of my starting weight), and I'd really like to accomplish this.

...you to know is very dificult BUT I try to make the Attempt.........

ummm, yes in the past, and yes already this year I've put on a few....but I reason, if you can't enjoy yourself around the holidays, then when can you?!
