Sorry, I'm afraid the only thing I can try to help you with is the carpet-try "Woolite OxyDeep". I don't have white carpet, but it seems to do a really great job on dog and cat throwup
(and ink, according to someone on my dog webite-pen chewer
).
I said a prayer for Rambo- hope it is nothing a little tummy rest won't fix, and settles down before the vet has to do more tests
. My vet suggested (homecooked) chicken and rice for resuming eating after a bout of vomiting for my pets- if he can eat these ingredients, you might ask your vet about trying it, if you haven't already
.

Update: Rambo is back at the vet she was worried about his fluid levels and she is going to do a barium test to see what's going on in his stomach/intestines. I had taken out some chicken to cook him for dinner tonight, but he might have to spend the night at the vets. Right now I can tell he's hungry, but he's afraid to eat. My sister who is a nurse thought that with the amount of bile it sounds like something intestinal....fingers crossed something shows up on the x-ray.

Thank you all for your prayers and calming words. It is definitely helping. There's just nothing worse then feeling helpless like this when your baby is sick.

I know that you will not be able to relax until you have answers about what is going on with Rambo's tummy.

You both remain in my thoughts.

I know this is probably silly.....but if he continues to have problems at home, do you think it could be some kind of allergy? It seems funny that at home, he would be sick yet at the vets, under all that stress, he would be better. Just wondering.

Poor Rambo, you're having such a hard time with your tummy. Here's more {{{healing}}} vibes. I hope the vet can determine what the problem is. It's so hard when they can't tell us what is wrong. Hugs for all

Thanks everyone for the ongoing vibes. KittenKiya - I've considered allergies (as he's had them before) but with the acute onset of this, with nothing having changed in the house...

UPDATE: Rambo spent the night at the vet (and I get to go and see him in an hour....). He stayed so that they could keep him on IV and leave his stomach alone. He had a barium series done and she found an anomaly in his small intestine but she can't be sure if it's a partial blockage (it was a void in the barium), or an area of intestine that is just in spasm/cramping. Rambo vomited at the vet, but since he hadn't eaten in about 2 days it was just liquid saliva. He is also constipated so the gas from his large intestine is being pushed back into his sore intestine too. I'm hoping to hear the results of the rest of the barium (i.e. once it got to his large intestine) today, and even better to hear that he used his litter box.

The sad news was...when I stopped into see him last night, he looked SO MAD at me....Rambo is the most laid back, loving boy who headbutts the vet after she draws blood etc....but he was not impressed at getting 2 x-rays every 15 minutes, and an IV etc. He didn't want to cuddle me at all....my poor baby.

Thank you again for the ongoing vibes....hopefully they will help me bring home my baby today and soon.

Update: Rambo is a little mischief maker. I ran over to the vet to visit and all the techs were just laughing when I asked how he was. Turns out at 5am the vet got a call from the security company that the alarm was going off. When she got down to the clinic guess who was sitting by the front door??? That's right. Rambo managed to get out of his IV and get through the locked door of the cage and went exploring!!!

Sadly he still can't come home...he hasn't gone to the bathroom and the vet wants that to happen before he leaves (especially so she can see what's in it). He also hasn't been tried on food yet, so they might try that later today. I feel much better seeing how lively and alert he is compared to yesterday. I hope he can come home tonight. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed!

HOW did he manage to do that?! Wow! Lucky he didn't get the front door open otherwise you would have had an early visitor at your door this morning.

I just read this whole thread. Poor Rambo and poor you!
It's the hardest when you can't figure out what is happening and you see your furkid in distress. I'm going through possible allergies/IBS with Nakita and it's not fun!

Hoping you get an answer soon.

Update: Rambo is home! WOOHOOO!!!! My poor baby finally went to the bathroom (first time in 4 days...turns out he just wanted a little privacy). They aren't sure what is going on, but he's on 2 medications - on to relax the intestinal sphincters so food doesn't linger in his stomach too long, and the second to prevent ulcerations (from the vomiting) and calm that reflex. Feeding time is about to get a bit complicated here....Rambo needs one medication 1 hour before feeding and 1 medication 1/2 hour before feeding. I better find my watch!!!

Thank you to everyone for your support, vibes and prayers. While I don't have answers...i do have my baby back and for that I am ecstatic!
