After going for several years without making a cake, tonight I'm on my second one in a week.

Tomorrow's my mom's birthday and she wants a chocolate raspberry cake, just like I made for my friend's big day last week. So, I'll be in the kitchen tonight, baking up a storm and making a huge mess.

The first one turned out pretty yummy (if I do say so myself). I'm definitely more fond of chocolate than I am of rasberries, but the combination was heavenly.

It's cooling right now. Then I get to frost it!
The frosting is made of whipping cream and melted chocolate chips.

Oh, Eileen! We don't eat enough sweets to make baking a cake worthwhile, but OMG chocolate and raspberry is a match made in heaven -- and frosted with whipped cream/chocolate. Move aside, everyone, I'm on my way!
