I am worried about my Trixter. Last night he had a very loose poop, then a little while later a VERY runny poop. He hasn't been eating much, either. This morning he didn't eat at all, so he was hand-fed some chicken and a tiny bit of his food, and he had more runny poop. Then he barely touched his lunch. He was then fed a little bit more chicken and a few soft friskies chicken treats, as that was the only things he acted enthusiastic about eating. He seems to not feel very good. I am worried. I tested him and his BG was 72 (he is a diet controlled diabetic), which was a relief, but still.. his tummy hurts. In the last few weeks, we have switched to only giving him turkey and giblets friskies because he was getting a little constipated and had a couple of days with just little bits of hard stools, i thought maybe the beef and liver flavors were bothering him. Now he has runny poops instead. *cries* Do you guys think I should be overly concerned? My poor baby, I hate when he feels bad. Any opinions and/or suggestions are appreciated.

Under his circumstances, I would call the vet and bring him/her up to date on the problem. Since he is on a special diet, you don't want anything throwing that off. Better safe than sorry.

well, he is just on a diet of low carb canned foods. he was getting a few other flavors as well as the turkey and giblets before, but then he was having hard stools, so i decided to try just the turkey and giblets, and no other flavors. I dont know if thats what is bothering his tummy or not.

Ask the vet if you could bring in a stool sample to be checked. Along with checking for parasites, the doctor could tell if there was mucus or blood in the stool that may be a sign of an intestinal infection.

Update! He pooped a little more earlier, still loose, but not runny, and I looked at the poop. Oh fun! *note sarcasm* lol, the poop had quite a bit of hair in it. After that, he ate pretty well and then he was playing with my other boy, Smeagol!
He seems to feel much, much better. I got some Pepcid AC, Original strength. So if he still has the runs tomorrow and doesn't eat much for breakfast, i will give him 1/4 of a tablet a half hour before his lunch. If that doesn't help, i will make an Appt for him at the vets. I just hope it has passed because not only do I want him to be better, but a vet visit would be bad for several reasons right now. One being that my poor baby has been through enough and deserves to go a while without having to go to the vets, take meds, etc. His last trip to the vet was anything but fun. Lord knows, though, if he needs to go, he will get there one way or another.

Anyhoo, he is doing much better and I have a feeling he will be fine tomorrow. Sometimes they get upset tummies, I guess, just like we do. Right? He has always had a pretty sensitive tummy. Please send prayers and good vibes that my sweeties tummy is all better very soon!
Thanks, guys!

Don't give him Pepcid AC without checking with your vet first. I believe someone said they have changed the formula and it's not that safe for cats anymore.

One thing you can do is try giving him some canned pumpkin (not the pie filling pumpkin just the plain canned pumpkin) for his diarrhea. IMO it would be better than giving him Pepcid.

Update! Trixter feels MUCH better today. No Pepcid needed. Some friends from the feline diabetes board recommended the pepcid, and have used it recently with good results. But, he is playing and eating good today, and no poop yet. So I am optimistic!
Thanks, everyone!
