Okay, this might sound really nasty to most, and trust me it was, but I have not vacuumed for a good three+ weeks, and I finally got to tonight! I feel so much better
with all these kitties plus 2 dogs, I'm sure you can imagine how bad it was
The reason I wasn't able to vacuum was because Hermes was sick and he always got super freaked out by the vacuum so I didn't want to stress him out that bad. I'm not a big cleaner, but vacuuming is one thing I try to do regularly and it was driving me nuts!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

My vaccum busted again (my 3rd in a year) about a month ago. Ive been sweeping with a broom. Which isnt to bad with most of the house since its hardwood but my area rug takes forever to clean that way. And it never looks totally clean. I hate it!

Don't feel bad! I've been off work sick for over 2.5 years and vacuuming is very hard for me to do so I only do it when I feel well enough. When I first got home from the hospital it was almost 5 months before I managed to vacuum just my couch and love seat. I had tumbleweeds of cat hair drifting around.

Now I manage to get my furniture and rug and floors vacuumed about once every 6 weeks, but not all at one time. Couch one day, love seat another, area rug another and the hardwood and other floors over a period of 3 or 4 days. I'm so frustrated with that because before I got sick my home was really clean and tidy and now I'm ashamed to have anyone over.

I'm awaiting an appointment for some homecare to help me with the heavy cleaning like vacuuming and mopping my floors.

So don't feel bad about only vacuuming once in 3 weeks.

So far as Kirby vacuums, they are bulky, loud and throw a ton of dust back into the air from the bag. Years and years ago I used to work for a vacuum company and we got so many trade ins of Kirby vacuums because people absolutely hated them. It really does sound like a plane taking off in your living room.

Once a day
Is it built like a bike and you ride it, there is no way I could do it everyday 2400 sq ft 2 story plus the stairs, to much work

Well, I only do once a week, but would go nuts if I couldn't get at it then! Only do in between if something needs it! I have a central vac, so just the hose and power head that I have to haul around! Also shampoo the rug whenever a hair ball magically appears!

I vacuum a room a day...that way the whole house gets done at least once a week, and I'm never at it more than 15 minutes at a time

I vacum once a week but have a handheld "dustbuster" that gets a regular evening workout! My DH hates it, as does Pip and one turns the telly up and the other turns tail and heads to the closest darkest closet!

Good for you Katie.........I"m not real fond of cleaning either, but with all our kits, it's a necessary evil!
