I have been looking for an electronic gravity fed automatic pet feeder that you can put dry food in. I am not interested in the le bistro at petsmart because it runs on batteries, I would like one that plugs in the wall. There is an Ergo brand on Amazon but the reviews are bad stating the cats can paw food out. There is another site called http://www.furryfeeder.com that sells some but know nothing about them. Does anybody have any experience and recommendations with a feeder? Thanks, Ryan.

I got the Le Bistro from petguys.com and it has been wonderful for me and my kitties. Although they do learn to "paw" some food out but it's not easy. I have seen them do that a couple of times but only a few dropped. I think I got them to stop doing that, at least while I'm home after a few series of disciplining them. The instruction isn't that clearn so you might need to play with it a little bit (at least I did). I've got the Le Bistro since Sept06 and the battery is still running. The only thing I didn't like is that I can't take the tray out to wash so I just use alcohol to clean it then wipe it with a wet towel then dry it off. Alcohol should be okay since it does evaporate.

I did a lot of research before buying the auto dispense feeder and found that the other ones that needed a plug isn't actually as safe and it's pretty expensive.

Good luck searching.

I use a small, battery-operated feeder with a timer, not gravity-fed.http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/c.../feeders/13600 I've found I have to wedge it in on my counter, as otherwise Jamie will bat it around in an attempt to get it open. What I like about it is that the plastic trays are removable, and can be replaced with china or steel bowls.
If you get one that can be plugged in, you'll have to check the cord regularly, because your cat(s) will almost certainly push and bat the feeder around.
