One of our ferrets Rocky passed away quit suddenly yesterday.
He was kind of acting a bit off the last few days but was playing and running with Angie (our girl ferret) then about an hour later was in a very deep stupor/comma type state so my nephew rushed him to the vet but he passed away as soon as they took him back to the exam room.
The vet said he had insulinoma that crashed his sugar levels too low, but he had no symptoms of it (as we've have had a few ferrets in the past with that condition and are very familiar with the symptoms) until 2 days ago, and she said even if he was brought in then it wouldn't have changed the outcome.
He was only 1 1/2 years old.
