Question about leaving my cat...

Hi, I am new here. Thought I'd ask a question. I left my cat in Washington and its been close to 4 months when I've last seen her. When I left, I was told that she was mewing all over the place, being load, sleeping where I used to have my computer (because she'd always curl up in my lap and sleep while I was there) and asked to be let in, then out, then in, then out, then in. Its like she's looking for me or something?

Anyway, she's since calmed down and apparently gained weight and I wondered if she is depressed now? She sleeps all the time I'm told and is kinda big now.

I'm also wondering if I went back if she would remember me. :/ I don't know anything about cat memory with people and I just want to know if it would be like meeting each other for the first time again...?

Sure sounds like your baby misses you.....is this seperation from her temporary?

Honestly? Cats (unlike dogs) are more attached to their territory than anything, and while she certainly may remember you by your scent, vibration of your walk, the way you pet her, she's unlikely to be 'depressed' at this point. A week after you left, maybe, but now I think she's adjusted, gotten older (don't let her sitter overfeed - not a good thing!) and no longer a terror, but living a quiet and stable life, which is what cats like and need.
