So DH has been job hunting. For his current job, he does simulations of solid rocket fuels (yeah, he's a rocket scientist
). The center he works at (here at the University of Illinois) is funded by the Department of Energy, but the funding is ending this year (in August). His advisor found him another project to work on starting in November. He is going to be working with South Korea. They are interested in rockets because of North Korea. He might even get to go to South Korea once or twice!
This is cool for us because he is about 1 or 2 years away from finishing his PhD and really wanted to finish it, since he's done so much work already. He could've just taken grad student pay, but he didn't want to take such a drastic pay cut. A grad student salary would be less than half of what he makes now. The new job will pay the same as the one now.
