With the holidays close by, many people will be lighting up scented candles and other similar products. Here's an interesting article reminding people to remember their cats' sensitivity to scents and possible toxic reactions.

Gizmo and I both adore lilac and lavender.

I've put a moratorium on all other scents, and gotten rid of the scented candles for obvious reasons. I'd rather keep the cat.

As for pine, I think that PineSol is bad for humans, not just cats; the small quantities of pine in the Feline Pine litter, or (allegedly) Nature's Miracle wouldn't likely cause them any harm.

Are scented candles okay to use in a room if the cats have free run of the house and can leave that room if they choose?
