If so what did you think of the review of the restaraunt strip search?

I won't name the restaraunt here, but the report is on 20/20's web site.

We have been talking about it occassionally during one of my classes. Apparently this just isn't an isolated incident, the phone caller has been successful with about 80 cases of this across the country.

The girl is one of the few who is actually suing because of how much detail the search went into.

I think it was a bunch of poopy on the managers parts.

I didn't watch it but i have heard of stores doing this. Its not good. Its not right. The only people who should do strip searches are police officers and that should be done in a police station or jail.

From what I know of the case apparently there was some guy calling around to various fast food places pretending to be the Regional manager of the Store. He claimed to have an officer on the phone and threatened the poor teenagers of having to come down and arrest the girls in front of everyone.

I think they caught the guy behind the phone calls, but there are a few managers that blantently unhelping in the case. I.e. this girl was begging her manager to help her and the woman did nothing of the sort.

I agree though...if I did get a phone call like that I would refuse and request the officers to come arrest me and escort me to the police station.

I watched it- it was just aweful what they did to that poor girl. I'd be suing the managers ( especially that girl, and her boyfriend that made her preform sexual acts on him), the owners, the guy, and mc donalds! What they did is soo wrong. I felt so bad for that poor girl.

I thought that was pretty darn bad I saw that awhile back, I can't beleive that managers and such would actually go that far not really knowing who was on the phone... I smell a law suit bigtime . How horrible for those kids

THe thing that gets me (and some of the students in my class think that some of the managers were in on this whole police strip-search phone call scam) is that these aren't your normal procedures for strip searching someone.
I understand that not everyone knows what involves a strip search BUT performing sexual acts is not involved. For the managers to allow this because they thought it was their regional, seems a little phony.

Most likely it will be settled out of court because the fast foods do not want the publicity, but still...this is something you will see added to the employee manual "Managers shall not perform or witness strip searches while over the phone..."

That's just common sense. I can understand that at first they thought it was real, but they should have clued in at some point.
