I received an email from the Best Friends Organzation volunteer co-ordinator.
Animal Rescue New Orleans NEEDS HELP!!! They have 3000 feeding stations set up in the city. They need cat food, $$$, live bodies to feed, trap and transport the cats. Please go to their website www.animalrescueneworleans.org.
They need help getting these lost pets to no-kill shelters too.
If anyone wants more info PM me and I can forward the email I received from them.
I am waiting for a response as I will send some $$ and I offered to try and get some food for the cats.
Thanks for anything you can do.

What - no replies yet??? I've sent a PM, but publicly want to send {{{prayers and vibes}}}} that during this season of giving, many good souls answer to call to help out the Katrina victims whose meows for help should NOT fall on deaf ears!!

I'm so sorry to hear that there are still so many that need help there, but I've given in as many areas as I can until I just have nothing left to give, literally. And at this time of year, my money goes to buy gifts for children who might otherwise receive nothing from Santa.

All I can off to the people who are there in New Orleans are more vibes that they are able to find the resources that they need to continue their valuable and comendable efforts!

Bless you for caring! I am sure that your vibes will help out! Maybe start the pricks of conscience for those people who have more to offer than they realize
And I'm sending {{{prayers and vibes}}} for the children that you are helping out

I am really broke this month too, but I will get paid 3 times in January instead of twice, so I will try to remember to help then!! If someone could bump this thread, or repost after Christmas I would really appreciate it.

I live 60 miles south of New Orleans....and all I can say is that there are a lot of unpopulated areas in New Orleans East, the Ninth Ward and Lakeview that have feral cats. This is a chronic problem down here and we need the state to pay more attention to animal control issues.

Please do what you can, but don't beat yourself up about it. Our people and our state need to take a greater part in resolving the whole situation. Unfortunately, there are many unenlightened politicians who don't even consider this a problem. There was a problem before Katrina and there will be a problem until our state gets it's act together.

I just wanted to keep this thread alive
I have been reading other articles about the sad situations in LA.....the human folks there already have so much on their plate, that it seems to be up to the rest of us, although, IMO, even prayers and vibes can make a wonderful difference
