Isn't that always the case? What the fur-babies want, the fur-babies get! Trent and Ophelia decided that they wanted the velvet tree skirt to stay out. They loved (and still do) laying on it. So the velvet tree skirt stayed out, and we bought a new one for Christmas.

Oh yeah, and at the apartment we were hard pressed for space, i.e. zero storage. So there ended up being a large box at the end of the bed, which is where the tree skirt was placed to cover the ugly box. Trent decided that's HIS box. When we moved, as soon as that particular box was brought up, he jumped on it and laid down. Well, guess what's going to stay in the bedroom now?
We couldn't deny him by actually getting rid of it!

Oh let me count the ways, lol. Last night the tub overflowed because while I was running the water I sat on the couch for a sec and Conner put his paws up on my legs and meowed at me (he wanted to be held). So I picked him up and cuddled him close to my chest and he nuzzled his head underneath my chin and promptly fell asleep with his precious paws wrapped around my neck. I couldn't move it was the sweetest thing. By the time I finally got the nerve to wake him up ever so gently and move him to the comfy couch throwblankets the tub was running over in the bathroom. Lovely.

The day after Radar's surgery he was less active than usual and wanted to sit on my lap while I was at the computer, which means I have to have my feet on the bar of the chair rather than the floor. Normally he'd be there for 10 or 15 minutes and then be off doing something else.

That particular day he slept there for 3 hours - I had pain in the arches of my feet, the rest of my legs had gone dead, I had muscle tremors from sitting still for so long so that he didn't slip between my legs, and I was desperate to use the toilet. But he wanted to sleep, so I couldn't move.

Also when he is on the sofa I perch on the edge of the seat rather than disturb him so I can sit back.

I wonder if he realises just how spoilt he is?

This is a cute thread to read.
My behavior is common, but genuine. I'm a sucker if Chasey wants to crawl into my lap because she won't do this at the computer. I hate to move and will stay at the TV longer because of her. Otherwise, I can hardly ever go by her without saying her name or petting her. She's just so sweet.

Sabina loves to sleep across the desk, mostly now that she's so big, blocking the screen, and she rests her head on my hand, which is on the mouse. I absolutely will not disturb her, so if I type, it's one-handed, and it's my left hand. I hardly move the mouse at all!
Also, when I'm going to bed, Sabina waits wherever she is, and I have to pick her up & bring her to bed with me. If I don't, she pouts & will not come to bed with me. If I do, she snoozes happily all night with her arms wrapped around on of the pillows.

With JinJin, it's different because she's so skittish, but I spoil her by walking softly. If the phone rings, I won't even walk fast to go get it because it scares her. If someone comes over, and she hasn't had a chance to properly hide herself, I won't open the door until she's in her hiding place. If I come upon her, and I can tell I've startled her, I'll stop walking & start talking to her. That way she can decide if she wants to run away, or stay & be pet.

I vow I will get it for her some day!!!
And then she'll get on it once and never sleep on it, if she's anything like my two!!!

Tears in my eyes while reading these, cats are just amazing creatures ....

Quill will always, always be beside me. Right at this moment he's sleeping by my feet. I love the way he comes to bed with me. He'll wake me up with his little chirp and make sure it's all right to sleep on the bed, and if not on the bed then on my pillow. When it's time to get up he'll chirp to see if I'm conscious and if I'm not he chirps until I open my eyes. Nothing sweeter than seeing his beautiful baby face first thing in the morning. I love him more each passing day, even though it's difficult sometimes because I'm still not over the death of Tucson. I suppose the greatest act of kindness we can give a kitty is to let go of them, to place them into eternal sleep. I loved my Tucson most of all. I spoiled him and he spoiled me with the love he gave me. With Quill being young, I guess love hasn't really worked into his mind yet. But I see it more and more. A little legrub here, a shy headbutt there. He is a spoiled little prat sometimes but I love bad boys.

Oh my gosh, that's hysterical!!! I've been reading some of these to my husband... he thinks your all crazy (and he's been deliberating my own state of sanity since we adopted our furkids.)
I experienced something similar last night when my guy decided to fall asleep on my legs while I was at the computer. I didn't quite last for 3 hours, but I did pull up another chair so that I could lay my legs across them and thus avoid the muscle tremors you experienced!
I do have to hide the keyboard from Amad (? still debating that name!) because he'll lay ON TOP of it whenever I"m on the computer.

What fun stories!!! Thanks for sharing!

The love and entertainment I get from having the little horror in my life is worth WAY more than having dead legs for 3 hours
When he greets me by leaping joyfully onto me and rubbing his face all over mine, purring and kneading, it is something that I don't feel many people can comprehend
Anyone who says cats are aloof and indifferent has never met my boy

I get up when he wakes me at 530AM to feed him, even if the bowl is full. Then curls up on me or at the foot of the bed, on the baby blanket I bought him, just so he will be comfortable, until I get up for good at 630am or 9, depend on my schedule for that day. every day when I get home I find him, give him a kiss and he sleeps on my lap until it's bed time.
