Well, as it turns out....it looks like I'll have her for a second night. It seems that Michelle is out of work again today. I had been told when she left yesterday it was to go to her grandmother's funeral. Turns out the funeral was today.

Last night, I brought her to my house that I'm working on (I don't live in it at the moment). I actually live in a different city....but I work in the same city where my house is. Anyway, I set her up in one of my bathrooms with a litter box, a cardboard box with hay in it, and a cardboard box with some old shirts in it. I also wrapped up a clock in a towel and put it in the box with the shirts. I put her food and water and made her two toys. They were both made by balling up some paper and then wrapping them with painters tape. I put a string in one and hung it from the knob of one of the cabinet doors. LOL Hey, I had to improvise. When I took her out of the box I brought her there in, I put her directly in the litter box so she would know it was there. She hopped out and jumped right in the bathtub.
I put that cardboard box she came in inside the bathtub....she jumped in it and then out of the bathtub where she proceeded to hide behind the toilet. I left her alone for a bit while I went outside to look for the cat that hangs out at my house so I could feed him. I only leave food out when I'm there as it was attracting other neighborhood cats, possums, & raccoons. I found him and fed him then went back inside to check on the little girl. I found her nestled on top of a box of kleenex that was on the top of the toilet tank.
I took her down, showed her the toys that I had made for her....put her in the litter box again.....put her in each of her little beds, etc. I then put some more ointment in her eyes and left. This morning, I made sure I was early for work so that I could swing by my house to check on her. I found her asleep in the cardboard box that was inside the bathtub....the one with the torn up paper that I brought her there in. I noticed she had used the litter box!
She hissed at me when I went to take her out of the box, but that's normal. I put more ointment in her eyes....they actually look a little better. The rims are not so red like they were yesterday. She had alot of that crustiness on the fur around her eyes. When I go there after work today, I will clean that off with a warm , moist towel...and then put more ointment in her eyes.
She's going to hate me soon. When I left, she was eating again.

Today for lunch, I went out and put up some flyers about her. I put out 10 of them on lights posts around the townhouses. I put 2 up at the apartment complex...one by the mailboxes and one in the laundry room.

That's all for now.

You're right....she does look similar to Reeses. My favorite part of her is her little ears. If you look at the 2nd picture in my very first post, you'll see what I'm talking about. They are so symmetrical. Half orange, half black, with a light grey tip.

Here is an update. I ended up holding the kitten at my house for my co-worker for the whole week. The signs I put up in the area have yielded no phone calls. My guess is that the kitten was dropped off at the apartments.
If she was someoneâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s lost kitten, youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d think they would have been out and about looking for her and seen my signs. Anyway, my co-worker followed me to my house last Friday after work to pick up the kitten. She decided to name her Patches. I sent her home with a few toys I had brought for her. This morning, she told me that Patches has settled in fairly well. She said she likes to eat and sleep a lot and she keeps putting her little mouse in the litter box! So overall, a happy ending.

I'm so glad that she has a forever home!!!

Think your friend would take some pictures occasionally to keep us updated? She's a cutie right now,
but she's probably a real stunner after she's cleaned up and her eyes aren't infected.

Awww. Good for you for taking care of her! She does look like she's got a little something going on in her eyes and ears though. Should be able to be cleared up though, when your co worker takes her to the vet.
