Uh, Karen.... your avatar has been replaced by the scariest thing I've ever seen. What?
What is that? Is it a nightmare?

Favorite things to have on your pizza?
Cheese. Only cheese. Occasionally Olives. My favorite though is like, focaccia pizza with pesto and feta and such.

Favorite fast food?
Hmmm... Subway? Vegetarians don't have many options in fast food. I do like Taco Bell too though.

Have you ever been to Massachusetts?
Sadly, no. Been close, but never made it across state lines.

What was the last thing you ate?
A bunch of zinc lozenges, cause it's finals week so I'm sick. But besides that, a P-nutbutterjelly Sammich.

Favorite type of cake?
Hate cake.

What song, when you hear it, makes you stop everything, turn it up and dance and sing along?
"Are You Strong Enough To Be My Man?"

Where did you go on the last vacation you took?
I went to Arizona and New Mexico last winter.

What is the oldest thing in your refridgerator? How old is it?
The oldest thing in my fridge is from August, and it's probably kethcup or something. But I once won a radio contest for weirdest thing in your fridge, which was a bottle of Mcilhenney's tobasco... from my parent's honeymoon... in 1968... and it was 1996
The host actually laughed out loud. Best part is, my parents were actually using the stuff.

Closest tourist Attraction to you?
The Shoe (Ohio State Stadium) is within walking distance.

Best gift you ever received?
An entire crate of mac and cheese

Worst gift you ever received?
Oh, geez. My grandma gives some crazy stuff, I don't even remember it all. And absolutely nothing like that thing you have.

Favorite flower?
Violets

what is your favorite piece of jewelry?
An amber necklace, and a pair of earrings my mom made for me, her, and my sister that are from sea glass we all found together in Minnesota

What color is your bedspread?
currently, yellow/green/blue/purple/orange/red/teal (it's a crazy pattern from the early 90s) but usually white with eyelets to match my dust ruffle.

what color shirt do you have on right now?
blue and gray

socks?
Skin

Favorite candy?
Buckeyes

What is your best personality trait?
I'm forgiving of people I love almost to a fault

Your worst?
I get irrationally angry at strangers

Do you play a musical instrument?
I can play "Silent Night" on an electric organ with my toes.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night and morning, like a cat. Not so good with middle-night or afternoon

Do you normally cook, get take-out, or go out to eat?
Cook

Paper or Plastic?
Neither. I have a cloth grocery bag.

What is one thing you spoil yourself with?
Digital cable with DVR and cable internet. Heck, I even have one-ply tp right now.

What would you do if you saw a unicorn?
Shrug, and see if it were lost. Maybe give her an apple or something.

Are you easily offended?
Not by words, but by rude actions.

What do you usually drink with dinner?
Dr Pepper, water, or Miller Lite

Are you ears pierced? Anything else pierced?
Both ears, a 14-ga cartilage in my ear, and my nose. For now.

Do you usually drive:
No
I never drive. If I did, it would be about the speed limit.

Favorite fruit?
Pear. I had this fantastic Riesling and Bartlett Pear Sherbert yesterday at the farmer's market. It was the most delicious thing ever.

Favorite vegetable?
Steamed broccoli and carrots with pepper and parm

If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
Pay of my student loans, and buy Zissou a floor-to-ceiling cat condo. Probably not much would change in my life though. I might break down and buy a hybrid car and run it on biodiesel though.

If you are driving down the road, and pass some cows, do you moo?
Yes. And If I pass Canadian Geese I roll down the window and scream "GO BACK TO CANADA!!" And we had a llama farm next to my high school, and we always made llama noises at them.

Do you sing in the car?
Oh, yeah. Horribly, and to the dismay of the driver or other passengers

How often do you visit TCS?
Not as often as I'd like to

I have gotten quiet a few PM's about it! It's the Heat Miser from "The Year without a Santa Claus"

Worst gift you ever received?

Wow, you remember "The Hoof"

Yes. And If I pass Canadian Geese I roll down the window and scream "GO BACK TO CANADA!!" And we had a llama farm next to my high school, and we always made llama noises at them.

Of course I remember the hoof!!! Who could forget it?

A llama makes a noise... not very often, but they make a couple. It's sort of...indescribable. I think it's called "orgling" or something weird like that. Any llama farmers out there?

Thanks!

~ if you could have ANY (paying) job in the world and be successful at it, what would it be?
Supreme court justice (once I had the experience). Maybe balance out some of the court-packing...

~ Who is your favorite singer?
Bob Dylan or Jerry Garcia

~ Who is your favorite band?
Guster, the Doors, Sneaker Pimps, Carole King, CSNY

~ What is your favorite flavor of Baskin Robbins ice cream?
What's Baskin Robbins?

~ What is your birth order?
I'm the youngest of two

~ How many nieces & nephews do you have?
One to be born in February/March

~ Do you like shopping for antiques?
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Stay away!!!!!! NOOOOOO!!!! Tell you who does... my grandma... on every single freaking vacation ever. Every. Single. One. In every town for a thousand miles. She's a dealer.

~ How many cats have you had since your very 1st one? What's the most you've ever had at one time?
This one, and one.

~ What is your favorite color?
Brown

~ Do you collect anything?
Hm. On said drug-to-antiquing vacations, I started collecting Schlitz bottle openers. I also have a pretty massive collection of glass shoes (like, the little ones)

Well, the other kind aren't very practical!

Which gives me an idea for my next questions:

1a.What's your favourite fairy tale?

1b. Why?

2a. Which fairytale story, heroine, hero, villian, sidekick or theme do you most identify? (I included the list because they are often 'archtypal' and run through many tales in a similar vein.)

2b. Again, why?

PS: I really am awake this time.

1a&b, kinda rambly. I always loved Sleeping Beauty, but all those fairy tales are so horrifying now. My favorite story was always The Velveteen Rabbit (original version) and The Little Bunny Who Wanted Red Wings. Those are much happier. The Little Bunny one is about wanting to be different and then realizing everyone loves you as you are. Still a good story!

2a. F Scott Fitzgerald said there are only two stories in the whole world: Jack the Giant Killer, and Cinderella. It's so true. But I'll have to go with Tinkerbelle.

2b. I always find myself with a bunch of friend-boys that remind me of the Lost Boys, and also if nobody believes in me I tend to die (figuratively of course).

Do you take your vitamins every morning?

Are you a plant person?

A bunch of us are coming to dinner. What are we eating? drinking? is the house clean?

Would you rather sleep in the same bed with someone with poison ivy or sleep in the bottom bunk of creaking bunk beds with a 400-pound man in the top bunk?

What is harder to get out of: bed or shower/bath?

Which is worse: A guy next to you on a plane that won't stop snoring, or a baby on the plane that won't stop crying?

Which is worse: A) a bad picture on your passport or B) a bad picture on your yearbook?

Do you feel naked for the rest of the day if you forget to put your watch on in the morning?

Do you cut your sandwiches or just eat them whole?

Do you break things when you are angry?

Do ants invade your house every summer?

If you see a spider near you, but lose track of where it goes, do you start to feel itchy?

Would you rather have your own private jet or your own private yacht?

Do you prefer answering or asking questions?

Favorite Beauty product?

Favorite cleaning product?

favorite thing hanging on your wall right now? and please post a pic

How many blankets do you have on your bed right now?

Favorite room in your house/apartment?

Favorite magazine?

What color towels do have in your bathroom - are they all matched ?

Do you recycle?

What's at the end of the rainbow?

Well, my finals are over! So keep the questions coming, I don't know what to do with myself without having to study all day or do homework!

Do you take your vitamins every morning?
Not every morning. I do take a Oneaday nearly every day, and I also have those Viactiv calcium chocolates, and Emergen-C (if you've never had one, try it-- it's a packet you mix with water and it fizzes and cures hangover and makes you feel better with Vit C and a bunch of Bs).

Are you a plant person?
I wish I could have a plant, but as I often say to Zissou, "We just can't have nice things around you!". She thinks anything she wants to eat is her food.

A bunch of us are coming to dinner. What are we eating? drinking? is the house clean?
The house is moderately clean. You are drinking pinot grigio or tea or dr pepper, and we're probably gonna eat mashed potatoes and salad and maybe, just maybe, I would attempt some sort of meat thing.

Would you rather sleep in the same bed with someone with poison ivy or sleep in the bottom bunk of creaking bunk beds with a 400-pound man in the top bunk?
Poison ivy, I'm not allergic to it. Plus you can't be crushed to death by it anyway.

What is harder to get out of: bed or shower/bath?
Shower. Min. 20 minutes for me!

Which is worse: A guy next to you on a plane that won't stop snoring, or a baby on the plane that won't stop crying?
Snoring makes me murderously angry. I can deal with a baby, I would just be pretty irritable after a long flight with that.

Which is worse: A) a bad picture on your passport or B) a bad picture on your yearbook?
Yearbook. Nobody cares about your passport picture, but people look through yearbooks and that picture is how they'll remember you.

Do you feel naked for the rest of the day if you forget to put your watch on in the morning?
Sometimes. I keep looking at my empty wrist.

Do you cut your sandwiches or just eat them whole?
Whole. I eat the crust off first, and then work on the circle in the middle. My mommie used to cut them into hearts or circles and such when I was little.

Do you break things when you are angry?
Once. I threw all my cd cases and a bunch of books at the wall. I was really mad, but I was the only one in the room and then I cleaned it up. I don't throw stuff at people or anything.

Do ants invade your house every summer?
I don't know yet, fingers crossed!

If you see a spider near you, but lose track of where it goes, do you start to feel itchy?
Yes!!! Or even if I put it outside, I still feel itchy.

Would you rather have your own private jet or your own private yacht?
Ew. Neither. I don't like flying, and I get scared on a boat if I'm in a cabin.

Do you prefer answering or asking questions?
Answering.

Favorite Beauty product?
Aveda's chapstick

Favorite cleaning product?
Windex!

favorite thing hanging on your wall right now? and please post a pic
Don't have a camera. But I'm gonna go with my senior art project, which is a bunch of headlines about how the war in Iraq would be disaster and then is a white dove which flies across and slowly turns into a F-117 Nighthawk. It's actually a light display thing, it should be hung a few feet out from the wall with a light in front of it, and the dove/plane flies on the wall.

How many blankets do you have on your bed right now?
One sheet, one blanket, one comforter. As always, even in summer. My body shuts down when I'm asleep.

Favorite room in your house/apartment?
Well I've only two. Probably my living room though.

Favorite magazine?
Rolling Stone

What color towels do have in your bathroom - are they all matched ?
Orange and orange and pink handtowels, and a teally-colored flowery thing for my bath towel. They match the crazy Hawaiian theme, complete with one of those hula girls that goes on your dashboard. She's on the sink.

Do you recycle?
The city doesn't recycle unless I drag it all a couple blocks down the sidewalk to the few bins that exist.

What's at the end of the rainbow?
Like, death? I think whatever an individual person believes is what happens to them.

Congrats on finishing your finals!

There is a weird metaphysical upheavel, and you are suddenly turned in a Fairy. Pick your fairy form (height, appearance, clothes, any fairy gadgets).

Why did you become vegetarian?

You don't have to answer if that's too personal. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who moos at cows as I pass by them.

Oh, fun! Promise?

I would be about 3 ft tall (a little over half my height now), very skinny, and have hair that was stripes of silver, gold, and red. My eyes would be bright purple, and I would have really pointy ears and a long neck. My clothes would be green tights, pointy gold shoes, a pink ballet sweater, and a white miniskirt that was pleated and had eyelets. I would carry a patchwork leather satchel full of all kinds of crazy stuff. And my wings would be really pointy and sparkly white. I would leave a weird green glitter mark on everything I touched. And dissapear in flames anytime I wanted.

And Zissou would turn into a silver-striped griffin who could breathe ice, and she would always stay by my side. She can also dissapear with me, but in snow instead of flames. That way we don't catch anything on fire.

And we would live in a treehouse in the rainforest.

When I was sixteen, I realized I felt sick all the time. I quit eating meat partially as a diet thing (yes, I was already too skinny, shhh) and after a week I realized I felt so much better, I never started eating meat again. My skin was always very red-tinted, and my hands would get all blotchy on my palms, and so would my face if I cried or ran or was cold. When I quit eating meat, my skin turned not quite such a gross red color and I never got all blotchy anymore. I honestly don't think my sister or I were ever meant to eat meat. It makes us both sick. Also, your chances of getting IBD are less if you are a vegetarian, and both my parents have it...
Plus, there's the fact that it is completely ecologically irresponsible. It takes 100 times the energy to create meat than it does grain. For one thing, instead of growing crops for humans, we grow crops to feed the animals that we then kill and eat. Eating meat destroys way more land and resources than not eating meat.
And with all the crap that is in meat in America today, there's just no way. The higher up on the food chain you are, the more polluted your food source. When you eat meat, you're eating a concentrate of all the environmental crud that animal was around in its life, plus any meat not grown organically is almost always full of antibiotics and artificial hormones, because it has to be the way they raise it or all the livestock would die of disease from being cramped together wading in each other's waste.
The FDA and other regulatory agencies are too far in each others pockets for me to actually trust when they say its okay to consume all that stuff.
And yes, I do, in fact, buy all my produce organic.

That said, I never try to convince anyone else they should be a vegetarian beyond an occasional "you should try being a vegetarian" if they say they want to go on a diet or the topic comes up somehow. That's just annoying.

Stick straight, and very long. Maybe to the end of my ribs? (Well, long on a three foot tall person.
