Can water affect a kitties pH?

I was just wondering if water can affect a cats pH? As some of you know my Sluggo has been having a heck of a time with crystals in his urine. My Mother, who lives on the east coast, had mentioned that she thought the water here in Minnesota was terrible because of everyone using water softeners. We have hard water, so salt is used to soften it. Could this possibly be bad for an animal to consume? Thanks for any opinions you have on this.

Talk to your vet ... I do know that some animals require a ph that is neautral ... Pm me for more info ...
