I HATE that with stockings. So I buy the next size up, firstly so they don't cut me in two, and secondly I pull them right up under my boobs, so they sit there, and there is no bulge that way. Of course it looks silly when you are just in your underwear, but under your clothes it actually gives your tummy a nice flat impression when you do that!!

And that officially is my most embarrassing TCS confession

My mind boggles at the model that the hosiery designers use. After my years of "study and observation" I've concluded no such person actually exists.

In my experience, stockings stopped at my knee and the panty stretched from there to my bust, or stockings fit, but the panty wouldn't stretch to fit a Barbie doll.

Sooooo, I wear slacks and knee highs. (Actually, I have to buy thigh highs so the material will come up to my knees.)

I find the knee highs just don't look that great with my short skirt.

I also think of nylons as 2 separate pieces and pantyhose as, well pantyhose.

I always buy the next size up, because they seem to fit better. That height/weight chart is usually WAY off, LOL!

I see nylons and pantyhose as being exactly the same thing, however, stockings are the ones you need to wear a garter with.

Now that just shows the difference in our ages!
I've had stay-up stockings where you didn't need a garterbelt - but one needs lean thighs for those puppies.

I agree with this
Maybe it isn't the difference in ages, as much as regional, as Betsy and I are both from Massachusetts? My mother, who is 73, has always referred to her pantyhose as nylons.

I've had stay-up stockings that didn't live up to their name! LOL! But maybe that's because I've always had large thighs.

I'll be 40 in February, so I'm not exactly a spring chicken.

That could very well be it!
I grew up calling them nylons, too.

I'll share my little bit:

If I were you, I would go the next size up. I always do, and they are usually a bit long for me, so it works out. I have the little bulge around my hips and tummy, so I stretch them up to where they are almost under my bust. 9 times out of 10, they stay put, and cover, conceal, and hide what I need. Oh, and I ALWAYS get the tummy control. They are tight at first, but once on and wearing them, I barely notice.
