Okay, this is going to sound super weird but perhaps someone will understand my problem...

So, my Christmas party for work is this weekend, and I am wearing a skirt..and nylons...

Uh...is it just me? Or do any of you get fat bulges sticking out the top of the nylons? I tried some on, and I could NOT believe amount of bulge I had sticking out the sides on my hips
...Am I losing it? Don't people wear nylons everday? How do they deal with the bulge? The damn things are so tight, I can't imagine anyone NOT having the bulge..

Does this ever happen to anyone here?
I think I may have to buy some thigh highs

I have a pair of knee length control top underwear that I wear specifically with pantyhose.

They're the same thing.

What I do is buy the tummy control, panty all in one type.

Depending on the outfit, I sometimes resort to a one piece bodice-type girdle (I guess it's called a corset, but it's made of the same kind of elastic that girdles are made of) and then nylon stockings instead of pantyhose.

Maybe its because I'm a...
Nylons? Are they stockings? or holdups (with the elastic round the top). I get the holdup bulge, and have learned to ignore it, suspenders/stockings look so good together you don't notice anything else

Its the full leg all the way to the top nylons/panyhose..and that :censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor: tight band at the top totally cuts my fat in 2!!

I find it best to usually get the next size up because we are all shaped different and carry our "fat" in different places. So weight isn't always the deciding factor when it comes to pantyhose.

I guess I must be older than I thought. When I say 'nylons" I think of two pieces, held up by a garter belt or girdle. Pantyhose are the all in one piece that goes up to your waist.

You must have gotten a wrong size especially if it is "biting" into you.

Well, you've got lots of company! That's what I think of too.

If they are that tight, it's the wrong size and you will be miserable! The band should rest gently on the waist. It is a pain and expense finding pantyhose that fit.
I hope you enjoy the party!

So I wonder if I should buy ones in the next weight bracket then?

Sometimes I think its the control top portion that makes you bulge. When I do have to wear them-mans its been I bet almost 2 years I never buy the contol top. Plus if your weight/height are close to the next size I would buy the next larger size.

Ditto what Gail said -- If I'm close to the next size up, I always go up, because I'm actually long-legged for my height so the larger size is always more comfy. And I do find that control tops are worse for bulging.

Of course, in another month or two I'll have to find "maternity hose" and won't that be a joy!

Movin' on up!
I only wear pantyhose, in winter and I buy the next size up, as my legs are long. Can't beat L'Eggs or No Nonsense. In summer, thigh-highs are the only way to go (sometimes stockings and a garter belt).

That makes 3 of us.

I'm going to a wedding this weekend and since it was formal, not only did I have to buy a dress, but pantyhose! I haven't worn pantyhose in at least 6 years and now you got me all worried about these fitting me on Saturday.
Maybe I need to buy a couple other kinds to make sure they don't make me "bulge". I can't even remember what brand I used to wear when I wore them last!

I do NOT wear them!!! If I HAVE to, I wear the knee high ones and call it good enough.
