Dianna will answer the phone for me. When it rings she will run to the desk phone in the living room and knock the reciever off. All the kittys like to step on the speaker button and listen to the dial tone. Annie will run to the cell phone, but only if it is Daddy's ringtone (I put it on speaker and she talks to him)
Does anyone else have a furry answering service??

No, but my cats sometimes like to hang up the phone if they think that they aren't getting enough attention while we're speaking to someone - these are usually international calls.

no they don't answer it but Demeter hung it up on me last night by sitting on my head while I was talking- apparently, like Satai's kitties, she thought I needed to pay more attention to her

Yesterday, Gus (my granddaughter's kitty that I am catsitting) grabbed the cell phone when it rang and ran off with it!!

Anya runs and jumps on top of the desk where the phone is and plops herself right down in front of it and stares. She doesn't knock it off the receiver or anything, just blocks me from being able to reach over and grab it.

A big treat for her is when I don't get to it in time and the machine picks up. She loves getting to hear a voice.

Of course Brian could have trained her to do this. Sometimes I come home from work and theres a message from him on the machine that sounds something like this:

"Hey Anya girl. It's daddy! Are you being good today? Have you broken any of daddy's stuff today? Who has a cute fuzzy butt? Anya does. Yes SHE DOES... Muah muah muah. Tell mama that I'm running late getting home from work! Bye Anya girl!"

One of these days I'm going to save one of those messages and play it back when his buddies are over.

RB kitty Tom Tinker was notorious for hanging up the phone when he thought you had been on too long.

I think Anya's daddy is wrapped around her paw!

My Molly will do that with a mobile when it has the sound test on! She will run off and do all she can to make the horrible noise stop, while shouting at it and 'hurting' the phone!

Willow loves to answer the phone! If it's not in the dock, he will find the phone when I need it too!

We only have cell phones and neither of the kits seem verey interested in them. Of course, when I did have a regular phone and answering machines I left messages much like Anya's daddy does. I think they like hearing our voices when we're gone.

nope, mine haven't figured out the telephone just yet, but if you do manage to leave your cell phone laying around the house or anything else for that matter, Jasmine will drag it off to her "secret hiding spot" and try to eat it

Tavia doesn't care about my phone but it never fails if I am on the phone she will come in and start meowing at me. And then will decide to walk on me if I am laying down and sniff of the reciever and start purring she will also make it hard to talk by stepping on my belly.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
My cats don't care for the phone. My BIL decided that he'd be funny one time when he called and left a message that had hissing and spitting and meowing on it.
I was NOT happy to say the least and DH got to hear ALL about it.
Needless to say it NEVER happened again!

My cats don't care for the phones but when dan puts me on speakerphone while i am at work and he is home, Mikey comes into the room and looks around, checks out the whole room looking for me. he looks under the bed, behind the door, even gets close to the phone to check it out. Dan says its really a site to see.

I don't have a furry answering service, more like a furry destruction of anything that rings service. 8-Bit hated the way the phone rang so he knocked it off the table it sat upon. Thank goodness we don't use our house phone at all so we just threw the phone away, and aren't going to buy a new one for quite some time.

Bagheera used to. Kittens favorite thing to do though is re record my message. So half the time I have either cat meowing, or me talking to the cats or me talking in the background as my answering machine message.
