Hi. My cat (5 years old) used to sleep with me and my husband every night at the base of our bed. He would jump immediately curl up next to one of us when we went to bed. For the past few weeks, he is sleeping in lots of different places around the house, and many times not even in our room. I find this behaviour quite odd, since he has slept with us ever since he was a kitten. He is eating well, and everything else seems OK. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you!

What has changed in the last few weeks? Have you closed up your house because it is getting cold (it's different and it upsets him)? Added a blanket to the bed (doesn't like the blanket)? Changed soaps, shampoos, detergents (doesn't like the smell)? New cat in the neighborhood that he is feeling threatened by (therefore he keeps watch for it)?

If he is healthy, something in his environment has changed. The trick is to find out what that is and work around it. Sometimes it's the little things that causes them to change.

Thank you Momofmany - I will think through the environmental changes - Good thought. Fluffy is an indoor cat, so nothing outside. He would "rotate" between my husband and my bed - then go to my daughter's bed and then my son's throughout the night - but spending most of the night with me and my husband. He doesn't visit my daughter and son's rooms at all anymore.
