I'm bummed that my husband has been travelling for nine hours and I just found out he's stuck in Vancouver because it's SNOWING there... how often does that happen? Once a year? Anyway, I haven't seen him in 16 days, I worked all day to make the house "MIL-clean," I made a special dinner, and he just called that his 15 minute flight from Vancouver to Victoria has been delayed. He's trying to get another but it doesn't look good for coming home tonight. It's supposed to start snowing here later, so I'm hoping he gets here before the weekend's over!

Our daughter started crying when she heard... it's not the end of the world but we're pretty disappointed here.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know what I would do if I had to be away from my husband. An hour seems long to me. (we work together so were never separated for long).

Thanks, guys!

I'm hoping the phone doesn't ring, because if he calls that means he's not making it home tonight.

This happened once before because of fog, but he was able to take a taxi to the ferry and got home that way (three hours late). But the last ferry to Vancouver Island tonight leaves in half an hour.

What bum luck. Being apart so much, we don't take for granted our time together.

Cheers, from

You guys have been having some really weird weather there lately. Usually we're in the deep freeze here by now. My windows face north and I have them wide open right now. We have a bit of snow on the ground, but not much. Lots of bare patches.

I hope he gets home soon. But if the flights are cancelled because of the snow, it's probably better that he not risk trying to travel in those conditions. Better to be safe

Thanks again to everyone who helped me last night! I've always been wary of "cyber friends" but you guys are exceptional.

It rained all night and at about 9:00 this morning it started snowing like crazy! We are so happy because there's no way he could have caught a flight today.

Here's a picture of two hours of snow. It's still coming down. I really appreciate you guys!

Cheers, from
