Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for your continued support and prayers for Noel. She has stabilized today. I spoke to the lead oncology tech and she told me that the issues I am having are normal for chemo patients. The beginning is always tough because the treatments are killing both the bad and good cells. So today I brought her to the vet to get some fluids to keep her hydration up until Monday which is her appointment day.

The bad news is that I noticed in route to the vet today that my other kitty Timber, was breathing really hard. She was diagnosed with mammarian adenocarcinoma in February. She has had two tumors removed and seemed to be doing better but then in September she was diagnosed with renal failure. I have been driving her to the vet almost daily to have fluids administered to her. I cannot handle the sight of needles or I would do it myself. Anyhow, I decided since I am already there, I would ask the vet to look at Timber as well. I requested some chest xrays which she agreed to do. As it turns out, the cancer spread to her lungs. I expected that to happen eventually but never dreamed it would happen at the same time as Noel, which happens to be her baby, literally. So tonight I am feeling very sad, stressed and helpless
. I just needed to get some of my feelings out. Please think good thoughts for us.

Thanks,
Terri

Gosh I hope you can be strong through all of this. It'll be tough.

When were both your kitties diagnosed? It's so hard to fathom that the powers-that-be would choose two kitties in the same house to have cancer.

I'm sorry.

Thank you all so much for your support. Renovia, to answer your question, Timber was diagnosed with mammarian adenocarcinoma in February. She had her first tumor removed then and I found another one in August which I promptly had removed. She seemed to be doing well but then in September, she was diagnosed with renal failure. I have been driving her to the vet almost every day, sometimes every day if I don't feel completely worn out. Noel, she was not holding her food down starting in October. I brought her into the vet and after some testing, she was just diagnosed with lymphoma with a mass on her heart. I decided to pursue chemo since I was told 75% of cases can go into remission. Can't argue with those stats. Today, I was driving Noel and Timber to get fluids at my normal vet, which wanted to see Noel to make sure it would be a good idea to give her fluids (I wanted to do it as a proactive measure since all the vets facilities except emergency rooms are closed on Sunday). On my way, I noted Timber was breathing very hard. She had been diagnosed with an URI almost a week ago so I decided since I was already going for Noel, might as well ask about Timber too. Long story short, the comparison of the two xrays showed 4 masses growing in her lungs. I left a message for the oncology folks I am already working with, who have been wonderful, to see if there is anything at all I can do for her. They have been amazing!! I never have to call more than once to ask about anything. So my fingers are crossed but all in all, I know that this was something I had to expect to happen eventually. I am so grateful for all the extra time I have had with her. Anyhow, thank you all for good thoughts. Please keep us in your prayers and also say a prayer that no one else gets sick because I don't think I can take anything else going wrong right now.

Thanks,
Terri
