To all those people, vets, pet food company reps, and uneducated pet store employees who still maintain that wet food will rot out a cats teeth:

My 12 year old girl had to go in for dental cleaning this week, as she had some tartar buildup, but it went completley smoothly and there were NO extractions. When I found her a few years ago she wouldn't touch dry food, so I presume her previous owner fed her wet only, and she's had wet or ground up raw since she's been here with me. The only "crunchies" she gets are her bone meats, like chicken necks, and quail peices.

So there. Perfectly healthy mouth and she's never touched dry food. *sticks out tounge*

Haha, not that you're gloating or anything.
Good for Nya(?).

I just recently started feeding more wet/raw food. My oldest cat 15-16ish just went in last month to have the rest of his back teeth extracted. I dropped off my 9 year old cat at the vet's for a cleaning this month and the vet called me and said to come and get him, his teeth weren't bad enough to justify the cleaning. I think genetics has a lot to do with whether or not a cat will have problems with their teeth.

As an EDUCATED pet food rep ... I always try to sell wet food with the dry .... My 18.5 yr old has had very low quality( I didnt know) wet and dry and HAS ALL HER teeth ... BUT congrates NYA

Now if you can explain to my younger one about raw food please do ... she will eat a little wet or raw but loves dry ...

Speaking of raw feeding....I just chopped up the turkey liver. Ugh! Why does it have to be such a horrid slimy thing?
