Hi, we are new to the site and we live in spain. I am looking for advice if anyone can help. We came to spain with Mia our Maine Coon kitty from england, now we have got her a friend, a half persian called Michifu. She is very healthy and clean but i am wondering if she needs vaccinating against anything here in spain, they are both house cats and Mia is vaccinated up to date from england. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Adios for now.....

Hola mis amigos, como estas - bien ??

Well its great to welcome another member living in Spain, I think we are the only two !!

Its great here, with lots to do and see.............beware you´ll soon become addicted

2 of my kitties came with us from the UK and the only extra vac. we do is the rabies..........but I seem to remember we had to have them done for that to come to Spain, so its just a matter of keeping that up to date as well as the usual annual vacs. As my kitties are indoor-outdoor I do keep the Frontline protection up to date - the ticks here are just hid

Well glad to have you here
once you get settled maybe you could post some photos of your fur-family
We just love photos here

Enjoy the forums - y hasta luego

Welcome to TCS!

A good information source for vaccination requirements would be the local vet.

Welcome to the Cat Site!

Rabies is probably the only extra one you need, but you need to be especially religious about that if there is a chance that you'll be travelling back to the UK with your cats, so they won't be quarentined on arrival back to the UK. (This is what I understand from my vet - do check with your vets, particularly your old vet in the UK will probably understand the UK's strict requirements).

Dear Michifu:

Your sister and your devoted caretaker are right to be concerned about you! Our advice to your caregiver is YES, by all means, every cat should have baseline vaccinations, wherever (s)he lives. Those, and spay/neuter, are a "must".

We would love to see pictures of you and Mia any time! Glad you found this great site and hope you love the forums like we do.
