I'm tryin to get much (more) info as i can on food companies that don't use vivisection for the pet food. I know these do (list at bottom) but does anyone know of any good ones that don't or online sites? Ones that do samples would be ace.
Ta!

In the states we have AFFCO and I try to only buy foods that have gone through feed trials as that gives some assurence that the % and ingrediants wont harm my animal .////

I just wanted to add that the AFFCO feeding trials to not require vivisection, if I understand them correctly. They feed the products to animals and monitor their growth and health but do not do (or have to do, anyway) invasive surgery.

The problem is that lots of foods are not tested on animals but are owned by companies that do animal tests, so it depends on how far you want to go. I dont have a link now but uncaged website has a list of cat foods considered cruelty free, but it's a very short list and does not contain anything that you can buy at your local supermarket or pets at home. James Wellbeloved is not tested on animals, but it is owned by Pedigree (?) who do carry out tests on animals. When it was bought by them JWB made an announcement that their product would not involve cruelty to animals despite being now owned by pedigree. Royal canin is similar I think - owned by a company that tests but not itself tested on animals. not sure much about wet foods - I feed hi life (town & country pet foods ltd) which I'm pretty sure is ok and natures menu which I'm not 100% sure of but think is ok too.

James wellbeloved do free samples http://www.wellbeloved.co.uk/ Click on cat on the left and then on free sample.
