This is the second runny eye Stoli has had in two months. He was first on Baytril and it cleared right up but it started again a couple weeks later (yesterday) and he's now on a stronger antibiotic.

I feel so bad for my little baby. He is all hoarse and has a gagging reflex (assuming it's due to the post nasal drip) and that runny eye. . . . .poor thing.

anyone have experience with this stuff?

There's no place like home
I have constant runny eyes with my Muddy. Just remember if its a viral infection, anti-biotics don't really work. Vet's prescribe them to prevent secondary bacterial infections.

If this reoccurs, you might want to have him tested for herpes virus. It's common in cats and one of the main signs is recurring eye runnies. My Muddy is on L-Lysine for life as a preventative measure. It doesn't work for all cats but helps more than not.

Sending healing vibes your way!!

Stoli eats Wellness wet and dry. His runny eye is clear, though sometimes white and creamy. He has had this twice since we got Luxor. Luxor had some runny eye issues when we first got him but he's pretty much normal now.

I agree that herpes is a possibility. Nakita was diagnosed at an early age when she had runny eyes. Since that time though, we've never had a full herpes outbreak or any other sign of the virus.

Your vet can do a test to determine if Stoli is a carrier of the virus. Good luck!

is it an easy test? is it life threatening - I know it's common and not that horrible but still. . . . .

No advice either from me, sorry - but LOTS of vibes for little Stoli
That must be making him feel wretched.
