Just a friendly reminder with the big shopping days coming up!
Same thing happened to my Cairo with a Victoria's Secret rope handle. She was screaming so terribly and Paris came running up the stairs so fast, and when I went down, it was so tight around her leg that I couldn't get the scissors under it to cut it. Thanks to some quick thinking my boyfriend's part, we got her out of there. You'd think that would have scared her away from paper bags for life, but noooo, she plays with everything she can get her paw or head into. We cut the cords on everything both paper and plastic.
She's now known as the suicidal cat because she will do the most stupid deadly things as a show for us. With plastic bags, it's not enough to just get in them. She has to tuck all the loose ends under her so there is no air coming through and then she meows to get our attention so we can free her and she attacks our hands with no claws.
She also gets in the bed under the covers when she knows were are coming in and lays as flat as kittenly possible (most of the time you have to strain to see her). I've partially laid on her once and that was enough to teach me a lesson. Now before I do anything potentially dangerous I do a cat count. Putting clothes in the dryer, turning the oven on, starting the dishwasher, getting in bed, etc. It was a lot easier when I had bells around her neck.
