I know from previous threads that sometimes people call their cat by the wrong name..

..I remember reading a thread a while back where people were relating tales of name mix-ups between cat/husband/wife/kids - where they would sometimes mix up the names and call the cat by the dog's name, something like that.

Well this is somewhat similar, but slightly different. Nate is currently dozing off on the sofa, he had an early shift this morning. I was trying to get the cat's attention, calling 'Radar... Radeypops', and Nate stirred on the sofa and mumbled 'eh, hello, what?' in response to me calling the cat

I find it hilarious that my husband responds to the cat's name

OMG! This is nothing! I go around all the time not knowing whether my wife is talking to me or the cat. In my case, I need to break down and go get a hearing test, that's all.

I mess up the cats names all the time. DH finds this amusing! I've never called him one of the cats that I can remember. I have called him an ex's name though.
This did NOT go over well.

I honestly can't tell with DH - he calls us all Precious, Honey, Sweetie, etc. I generally ignore him until he gets miffed. He says that by using pet names he doesn't have to worry about calling someone the wrong name. But he does need to be a little clearer about who he is talking to.

flufflebutt is superb, I think that if I called 'Flufflebutt' and Nate answered to it that would worry me slightly

PS Your cat's eyes are really blue in your sig, very striking

I have been woken up by DH PETTING me saying "it's okay Scratch."

My response, "Honey, I don't have massive amounts of black fur. Stop calling me Scratch."

I mix up my pets names all the time. But thankfully I've never made the mistake of calling my boyfriend by any of the pets names yet. That wouldn't go over well, he already thinks the animals get more attention than he does

I was in the kitchen last night and said something to Gil with no response?. I said it again and still no answer from him?. I laughed and said " Are you ignoring me?! ", then he said he thought it was Rosie i was talking to because i'm always having conversations with the girls

Yep, I'm often unanswered because hubby thinks I'm talking to the cats. My response is usually, "well, I wasn't using a sweet tone of voice, so I'm obviously talking to you!"
