Yet another question from me! I am curious about the differences between the Peterbald sphynx (originated in Russia) and the Sphynx that originated in North America. Maybe I should add that the CFA does not yet recognize the Peterbald, although TICA officially recognizes both as separate breeds.

For any one that has any knowledge on these cats, what are the differences in appearance and temperament?

Thanks again!

The main difference between the Canadian Sphynx and the Peterbald is that the Peterbald is an outcross between Oriental/Siamese and Don Sphynx (naked cat which originated in russia which has a dominant "naked"-gene) giving the Peterbald more or less a similar temperament and look to the Oriental/Siamese-breeds.

Also, the peterbald has a couple of degrees of nakedness, the "rubbercoat" - completly hairless, the flock-coat, velour-coat, brushcoat and then a "full coat" of hair.
