Alright this is how is works..

Someone says something that may be taboo to some and not to others..the next person says if they think it is acceptable or unacceptable and their reason why and then THEY mention the next taboo thing..and so on..\\

Example: Spitting on the sidewalk

Member: "unacceptable because that is disgusting"
Same member: Farting out loud in public..

Next member: "acceptable"...

and so on..GOT IT?!!

I'll start:

Spitting your gum out on the street?

UNacceptable with out a doubt.
Contributing to the copious amounts of litter that already clutter our once gorgeous planet is NOT okay! No ma'am. Lol.

Not putting your blinker on while changing lanes if no one is directly behind you.

EDIT: Oops, double posting....
Answer is still unacceptable, no yelling at your kids in the grocery store. Those are home matters and yelling has proven to be quite harmful to developing children.

NOW....Not putting your blinker on while changing lanes.

Only if the person knows that it was given to YOU as a gift. If you wrap it up and try to pass it off as yours, I feel that's in bad form.

Swearing in public.

I say acceptable if you just mutter it or something, but definitely unacceptable if you're screaming it, saying it around young kids, or swearing every second word.

Picking your nose in public?

I'd say acceptable... my best friend has chronic migraines so all of our plans are "migraine dependant". My feelings don't get hurt if she calls me and tells me she's sick.

Going out and not showering.

Normally, unacceptable...but to go grab a coffee or breakfast at McDonalds I sometimes don't shower before...that is the ONLY time though. I am a hygiene friend normally.

I guess it's accpetable. It doesn't bother me, one way or the other

How about this: Driving breakneck speed to pass another driver, only to slow down to an almost stop to make a right turn?

UNacceptable - can cause an accident.

Wearing ratty T-shirt and sweatpants to meet someone on a first (blind) date.

acceptable if that is how you normally are. best to be yourself and let them know up front. (and unless it was a formal resturant- which I've NEVER been to)

Acceptable, as long as you can control the food in a way that it doesn't show to the person you are talking to.

unacceptable. they might go off on you. If it is a friend, it'd be fine, but a stranger, no.
