acceptable -- their parents obviously arent paying attention-- I would personally be very embarassed as a parent if this had happened to me, but it would be worth the embarrassment ( i dont let it happen though)

Hummm.....depends on who it is - if it's Colin...then acceptable- because we have a mutual thing with that sort of issue. For anyone else though- i'd say it's unacceptable because you shouldn't take their food without asking permission- nobody wants your coodies

I think its acceptable, not everyone has a center near them. Ours is quite a drive away and there is no pick-up for recyclables.
Throwing away old clothing instead of donating it to charity?
Depends on the condition in which the clothes are in. I'd say if at all possible- it is better to donate. I think just throwing away clothes to be getting rid of them is unacceptable- donate them to someone who really needs them and help them out that way.

Unacceptable...although most people here do. We've been broken into before and I will not take that risk. They'll have to make some noise to get in!
