Acceptable-If you've been chasing after children all day long, taking care of the house, the animals, the errands, and everything else on God's green earth- it's acceptable to give them cereal once in a blue moon. Usually what I do when I have my niece and nephews with me is give them each a task when I make dinner- that way they learn to cook and we also work as a team and get it finished faster.

Not cleaning out the hair that's build up in the drain on your shower before another person takes their shower

Acceptable if it is actually important, like "Dude, your house is on fire!" or "OMG, I just cut off my finger!"

Acceptable or unacceptable to dog-ear (turn down the corners of a page to mark your place) a book from the library?

Depends on the relationship you had. I invited my high school "boyfriend" to my wedding because we were never serious, and we have remained friends. I did not invite my serious college boyfriend.
