I'm just kinda curious.
With all of us running around doing for everyone else, is there anything you do just for you?
What I mean is, I have a whole stash of christmas movies, and I just love to take one day by myself and sit around in my pajamas and watch them all with a cup of hot chocolate.
Does anyone else do anything like this? or am I crazy?

When we do put up the Christmas tree (normally a week before x-mas) I normally have either Christmas music or Christmas movies going. It gets me in the spirit to decorate. Because I'm basically the only one that ever does decorate.

DH and I watch the 24 hours of a Christmas Story on TNT every year. I also have an ornament from my grandmother that goes on every tree that I'll ever have. If there's a fire in my house, that is the one thing (besides the boys) that I would grab.

With all of the marriages, divorces and scattering of the family, we don't have any REAL traditions. I seem to have started one for the granddaughters though - I always buy them pretty shoes or boots. Mia is getting HER very first pair of Western boots this year.

Every year my brother and I home home to my parents house a couple days before Christmas. Every year when we wake up christmas morning our stockings are on the foot of our beds and we open them. It is like the pre christmas gift. Then we all get coffee while the Strata is cooking and open christmas presents. Then we eat brunch and later that evening we go to my Grandmothers for a turkey dinner.

I'll be out birding for the Christmas backyard bird count again this year...and I'll spend the day of christmas at my parents for a family dinner.

Christmas eve and Christmas day are quite hectic and I wish I did have some time out just for myself (of which I probably be sleeping)

DH and I light a fire in the fire place and just snuggle for a bit after the kids are in the bed, Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day is also my birthday (yeah, it sucks!!) so my husband always tries to make sure I have a little extra-special something just for me. Last year, he paid for me to get my hair cut and highlighted and bought me a beautiful new dressy dress for the holidays, complete with garnet earrings, two necklaces and a bracelet. My mom and I had a lovely day shopping for all of it and then I was able to take my mother and myself out to lunch with the left-over money he gave me to buy it.

I usually just watch Christmas movies and cuddle with the furbabies.
I also love decorating the tree by myself well hanging up candy canes on there and all the ornaments.
my parents do the lights and the garland and I do everything else.

We do that too! Even though by the time the 24 hours is up, we've probably seen certain scenes at least 4 times, it's kinda disappointing when it switches to something else.

The other Christmas tradition I have, and it goes back to when I was growing up and we had it on vinyl, is listening to "John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together". Usually while decorating the tree the day after Thanksgiving. And making cookies (Earl doesn't know that part yet!
) We would always listen to that album, and watch the special when it was still on TV, and I just love it.
That's the only John Denver that I own, but I think it's more for the Muppets than John Denver.

Well, my x-mas traditions have changed a lot over the years, I used to be the cookie baker and I would spend all day baking, listening to christmas music, by myself, i hated it when someone wanted to help
other traditions still in effect are the family gathering at my Aunt's on Christmas Eve, this is also when we celebrate my sister and I's birthdays (mine is the 20th, hers is the 26th...yup we both got gipped
) and then we always have christmas breakfast at my Mom's

Okay we are Christmas Fanatics... We bought a oak entertainment center thingie that goes over our huge tv,, just for our christmas village.. Is that not sad or what!!!

We have so many traditions.. We listen to Christmas Music as soon as it's on the radio.. We decorate the house and tree with Christmas Music. I have an ornament for me and my husband as a couple every year, and one for my daughter every year. We also open ONE present up each christmas eve.. To keep us all excited for the next day.. We celebrate St. Nicks day,, by giving our daughter a present early.. Plus we watch all the christmas classic movie ever year,,, all through the month of December.

We go to my parents right after we do our christmas at home.. and they make homemade hot chocolate and breakfast after presents. Then I make a ham and all the works for my husband's family for dinner that night when they come over...

WE LOVE
Christmas!!!!
