Hi there,
Most of the time my cat has diarrhea at least once a day and sometimes there is very little blood in it. He also does his poop so many times in a day. He uses his box like 6-7 times in a day for pooping, I dont know if this is normal or not. Not all of times he is diarrhea but it does happen at least once a day.
He is a himalayan kitten and about 5 months old. Has been with me for 1,5 months.
I did took him to a vet and they did an\texcrement test for internal parasites but nothing found and they didnt do anything else. I am from Turkey so I dont think there are many vets here that would find out his problem.

Hi.

This isn't normal for a kitten, and somethign does need to be done about it. Is there any chance of getting him to another vet? Has he been wormed? If so, what are you feeding him? Sometimes kitten food can cause loose poo's, and in the UK, we would use a chicken (or fish) diet to try and resolve this. Maybe that would help?

I can take him to another vet but I dont think there will be any difference till i find a really good vet. I will search for one though.

For the bloody excrement, he used to have it like 3 weeks ago and the vet made a vaccine and it didnt happened again till now. It started again a week ago and vet recommended a excrement test for internal parasites and also recommended me Eukanuba Intestinal Formula dry food. I have always fed him with Hill's Kitten so I mixed Eukanuba Intestinal Formula with Hill's and now Intestinal is about to finish so I will continue to Hill's. Once a week or two i give him a slice of salami or half can of wet food. I will try giving him a piece of chicken.

For the diarrhea, i thought he may have chronic diarrhea what do you think? Here we dont have cat breeders other than amateurs and most of the cats come from other countries in poor conditions so my kitten probably get separed from his mother and siblings very early and i heard this may cause chronic diarrhea.

Did he have diarrhea on the Eukanaba food? IF not, then I would stick with that. Some cats cant tolerate certain foods.

Bloody diarrhea can be serious, I would take him to a vet to get him checked out, especially if it continues.
My cat also used to have chronic diarrhea with no apparent cause (although not bloody). She recently switched to Hill's prescription W/D diet and hasn't had any since! It is actually a diet for weight control, but also helps with intestinal problems. I know you are already giving him the Eukanuba, but if that doesn't help you might just have to find the right one for him. They also make hypoallergenic diets, which might help. At six months he will be old enough for adult food. You can find info on them here: http://www.hillspet.com/zSkin_2/prod...=1163972561296

My Boo-Boo has had diarrhea problems on and off since I got her at about 10 weeks old. One thing my vet detected was a bacterial infection and she prescribed Zithromax to fight that. She also gave me some Panalog cream to put on Boo's little butt because it was sore and protruding from the diarrhea.

I've found that Boo can tolerate most of the dry foods OK, but I have to take it easy with giver her soft food because she's goes right back to her upset tummy with diarrhea and gas.

Does your kitten have a gassy tummy also?

If so it could be the food and you would want to find something more agreeable for him.

My vet said that sometimes kittens develop such problems young in relation to their rough beginning in life. She also said that sometimes it will clear up and sometimes not. It's more of a wait and see whether they outgrow it or not.

ood luck to you and your little boy. I hope he can get over this problem.

Thanks I will try switching the food. Would feeding raw food help any? or should I avoid in this case?

I dont if he has a more gassy tummy than avarage but i dont think so. He does have gas once in a while. I hope he get well soon, i would be so sad if he has any serious illness.
