One of our male cats has nowadays very often big black pupils. Both.
Also in decent light.

He is otherwise healthy 4 year, behaving as usual. He isnt not stressed and god friend with our other male, the alfa-cat.

Sickedness?

Malnourishment?? (he isnt eating everyting, thus his food may be somewhat unbalanced).

Worms???

Please, share with your knowledge - or at least suspicions and thoughts.

I know if I dont get good soothing info I shall contact a veterinary.

Itsnt no problem.

Do his pupils change size in the light? If not, you may want to call your vet for information. You said he is not eating everything? Just call the vet and give the info.....not eating well, very wide open pupils. Before you call, check and see if his pupils change in the light. Let the vet know that too.

It seems to me that their pupils will dialate with excitement, fear and pain as well as light changes. Considering that and your other info he may be in pain from something and probably would be best to see the vet as soon as possible.

Dilated pupils can be a sign of all kinds of things. In addition to the things mentioned above, high blood pressure can cause pupils to be dilated. To check whether your cat's eyes are reacting to light, get a small but fairly bright flashlight and take your cat into a darkened room. Shine the light briefly in your cat's eyes to see if the pupils react (this is how my vet checked Odo's eyes a couple of days ago). If they aren't reacting, call the vet immediately.

Thanks guys for response.
I had now did this; shone in his eyes in a half-dark room.

Yes, they did became immediately smaller (althought not really small), both simultaneusly.
Good sign of course. pugh!

Thinking about it, i almost think also our other male, his father, has somewhat bigger puils than one year ago... Not anywhere like he, but quite large.

If so, then both have the same thing. Apparently not serious neurological injury, but something.
