Hello, Im new to this board..
I have 3 cat's

and Jingles.. I dont have a photo of him.. well not a good one, he's a bit of a roaster

George and Dalton are both 4 months old... Jingles is 7 months.

I love the three of them to bits , but Dalton seems to always have problems
It's the main reason Ive joined here .. He broke his leg just over a month ago .. he's a lot better now .. just last night/early hours I think he has been reamping with one of the others and now has a poorly eye .. Ive been washing it out and kept him isaolated in his cage/carrier most of the day .. Im wondering if maybe he's torn /scratched it? his eyeball looks swollen, I gave him some medication earlier ( the stuff I had when he hurt his leg) I thought maybe sleep would be best for him as that will stop him rubbing it and give it a chance to heal .. If he isnt a bit better by Monday I'll take him to the vet , his leg and the cost every trip kinda drained me and I have now registered him with PDSA but still waiting for the certificate so will have to pay ( I dont mind paying for him, I hate to see him in pain)

Could it be he's just a clumsy cat? George and Jingles are fine and none of them are agressive, just normal playful cats.. Dalton already doesn't trust me because of his leg... I still dont know how he did it.. He meows when I lift him ( he gets called whingebag.. lol ) but I think thats just his nature.. George is very loving and calm and Jingles is the roaster .. always running up the curtains ,playing boss etc etc .. Jingles is jet black with about 6 whites hairs on his underside .. George and Dalton as you can see are both british short hair.. one solid blue(Dalton) and Lilac Colourpoint (George)

anyway.. good to be here anyway ..

Welcome all to TheCatSite!

and glad you could be here. Hope you'll all feel right at home here and love it like we do. We are 9 rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered felines, ranging from King Nicolas who's 16+, all the way down to Baby Su, who's 2; and then there's our devoted servant, who's lived with, loved, rescued, and advoCATed for cats all her life. She thinks that's a great idea to let the vet look at Dalton's eye -- those kinds of things are always best looked at by a doctor, aren't they? just like when we have something wrong with our eyes.
One thing we swear by here is being indoor-only. It stops a lot of accidents from ever happening, and everyone is very happy and secure being indoors with clear litter boxes, lots of toys and cat furniture, and of course, lots of love and attention!

Your crew are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable! and we look forward to seeing pictures of Jingles, who sounds very handsome indeed.

Be sure to post a progress report on the little guy, won't you?

Some kitties are naturally more clumsy than others (I don't know where people get the idea that they are graceful from
)

Hope all goes well at the vet if you have to take him

Thankyou for the reply
I will take him first thing on Monday.. Our vet is quite harsh IMO.. they wont even look at your pet if you dont have your purse with you
Im keeping Dalton isolated for now and just cleaning his eye/fur around the area with cooled boiled water.

I change their tray every day, they are all house cats as well .. I would be scared in case someone stole them.

I'll have a look around this forum.. looks fab, and will keep you all updated on Dalton.

Dear Drum and Fams:

THANKS!!! (For keeping 'em inside, for loving cats and rescuing them, for being so caring and responsible, and for taking him to the vet!) I know how THAT goes -- this capitalistic, materialistic mode the world is in now SUCKS big time -- but he is worth it, and personally speaking, my cats are my #1 priority. In fact, my favorite day is catfood buying day because when the house is full of cat food, I know they are going to eat for a long time. That makes me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!

Hi and a warm welcome from Spain and my kitty-crew

Your kitties look real cutie pies

I can understand what you are going through with Dalton, one of my cats Miss Moofi got in a bad cat-fight and damaged her eye real bad
it took a long time to heal and she had to wear a collar all the time - as you say the scratching can irritate it and make it worse ! So I think you are right and a trip to the vets will be best to sort it out ! Good luck with that
and do keep us posted !

Well enjoy the forums and when you get time maybe you could post some more photos
we just love photos here ! !

Welcome to the Cat Site - good luck tomorrow with Dalton.

Do you have any other vet offices that you could maybe switch to? A vet you like and trust is an amazing thing.
