About three months ago, I got my kitten Dei'a from a friend. She came from a house with six other felines and I am sure it was a switch coming to my empty apartment, but we did well, the only problem I had was she loved to attack toilet paper and I had to keep the bathroom door shut and she loved to sleep on my tall dresser.

A month after I got her we moved to another state and into the house of my cat-hating parents. Since then, it's been them against me about the cat. She uses her scratching post but loves climbing on all the counters and furniture as well as attacking their floor rugs and is back at tearing up rolls of toilet paper and in general, terrorizing their bathroom. This is only when I am at work!

Mom has tried using a squirt bottle of water to halt her behavior but she still climbs up on everything and loves to sneak into their bedroom to run amok. [Mom hates having closed doors in her house]

It's to the point that I am being forced to get rid of her unless I get help. I have tried to tell her that cats love to climb and that I'd be getting her a cat tree but as all mothers do, she tells me that she's never had this problem with any cat she's ever had in her life.

Soooo any advice would be appreciated and thankful

How old is your baby? Is she spayed? Can you keep her confined to "your" part of the house/room?

She needs a lot of playtime and (though your parents would probably disagree) another cat to chase and play with. You have to really keep her busy. Get a cat tree, make some toys (little light balls, knotted cords pulled under newspaper to pounce on, etc). She will be just as bored as you would having nothing at all to do all day but wander.

Yep I agree...she needs lots of toys and maybe a cat tree if you can manage it..they get bored easily, especially when they are little.
