Hi Everyone

Hello everyone. My name is Rachel. I have 6 inside cats (Bosco, Molly, Buddy, Max, Jasmine, and Bear) and right now one feral named Pumkin and 2 strays named Phoenix and Moose that live on my back porch (its closed in but they can come and go whenever they want to). Pumkin is very specail to me. He has been around for a couple years now and just a couple weeks ago decided that he would let me pet him. Maybe one day I will be able to convince him that being an inside kitty isn't so bad.

I also have cockatiels and a blue and gold macaw named Charlie.

It is great that Pumkin is starting to trust you to touch him, that is such a big move for a feral.

I know you feel as if the reward is great (all of us who truly love cats do!) -- and a big part of it is the joy you have in knowing that those in your care are safe and loved. I know just what you mean about Pumkin -- how many times have I said the same thing myself when gaining the trust of a homeless cat! We are currently 9 rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered felines ranging from Nicolas at 16+ down to Baby Su at 2, and one devoted servant who's lived with, loved, rescued, and advoCATed for cats all her life. You'll find a lot of "peas in a pod" here at TheCatSite and we hope you'll feel right at home here!

Thanks everyone. I do have my hands full...not just with furry babies but feathered ones too. I wouldn't have it any other way though. I am very happy about Pumkin...I thought it would never happen. I am sooo glad that he has finally decided that we are ok though.
