I was surprised to hear that Oprah was not invited to Tomkat's wedding and even Brooke Shields was invited. I didn't even know there was a falling out.

What do you think of this?

He was very critical of Brooke because she took anti-depressants for her post-natal depression. It was during his fall from Grace. Not sure what happened with Oprah.

Who in their right mind would want to the TomKat Wedding? It would be nice to take a trip to Italy, but to waste that trip watching those two idiots getting married seems like a waste of time.

The ONLY reason he's inviting Brooke Shields is because he's trying to make nice with her, to improve his image. Just like Oprah, I don't buy any of it.

Yea that's what I remember. I wonder what Oprah did to make them not invite her...as if celeb weddings have to have a limit....I mean it was on her show that he first professed his love for Katie.....

I've been reading other articles as well online and I didn't know before that she went on the early show and said she thought he (tom) was over the top and that she didn't really believe it all.

I don't know, but I don't think that is so bad...not enough to not invite someone anyways...esp if they invited Brook Shields...if they were trying to make nice, why not with everyone. OH well I just hope they have a nice wedding.

Would that prevent you from inviting someone like Oprah to your wedding?? Or anyone for that matter?

Nope... wouldn't prevent me from doing anything.... I would still invite Oprah to my wedding. Not inviting her would be wrong.. Just wrong.

I agree...not inviting Oprah would just be wrong!!!!

Well there has been a lot of talk if this is just something to jump start his movie career again..... Personally I think this media hype is feeling more of the bad publicity (michael jackson kind) than the good kind of bad publicity.

Sometimes I even wonder why these people even bother getting married when they will mostly likely be divorced in a few years. It's sad and I think it really gives marriage a bad name.

Brilliant!

I would probably use the time to get in a really comprehensive cooking course.

If so many people really don't care - then why is there so much "talk" all the time. I say people do care - they want to hear all the gossip - the worse it is the better. Why else do the rag mags stay in business! The sad part is that the people buying into this nonsense believe what they read and a lot of it is made up to sell the papers.

What business is it of ours who Tom and Katie invite to their wedding! Isn't that their decision? Isn't it their wedding to invite who they wish? Who are we to judge who they should invite? Were we in charge of the guest list? Are we all so successful in our own decisions in life that we are in a position to decide that Tom and Katie shouldn't marry?

I often think some of those marriages might last longer if we gave them half a chance to have some privacy to manage their own affairs.

honestly who a really cares.

Probably no-one. But caring and being interested are two different things, and of course people are interested. Celebrities are shoved down our throats on a daily basis, covering their lives is responsible for 99% of magazines out there - magazines and newspapers I should say - that we would be lying if we said we never picked up and flicked through, even just to look at the pictures. I buy magazines, too, and will read stories about celebrites - decent publications like Marie Claire and Madison, not trashy magazines, but still magazines just the same. It doesn't mean I care, it means that I find it interesting to read about occasionally. Some people take it further, some people less so. Each to their own I say
