I just got this kitten today. He's a rescue, and I was told that he was 8-9 weeks old. however I find this very hard to believe. He's TINY. I just snapped some pics, maybe you guys will be able to help me determine his age.

Awww!
what a tiny little thing!, he does look younger than 8 weeks but if he was a rescue he may not have been getting enough nutrition and is just small for his age?

Do you know how much he weighs? He looks like he's about 1 lb....if he is odds are he's 5 weeks, maybe a little less... just my humble opinion

He looks about the height that Bagheera was when I got him he was 4 weeks old. I think that kitten though might be around 5 weeks though.

He is very tiny but I notice he doesn't have the blue to his eyes so I would say that he could be about 5 weeks but as said before his nutrition will have alot to do with his size. Make sure you get that KMR ( I think I got that right) stuff some of the others can tell you about that stuff.

I would also say 5 weeks old.
When I got Mia, the shelter said she was 10 weeks old, there is NO WAY she was that old.

I foster for our local animal control. If they cant find foster homes for kittens under 8 weeks (even if they are 4 weeks) they list them as 8 weeks and adopt them out anyways. Because kittens that young dont survive in shelters (to many things they can catch) so they figure they have a better chance adopted out.

When we got Milo, they told us he was 8 weeks old. There was absolutely NO way he was 8 weeks. We guessed about 4 weeks. He fit in the palm of my hand.

I'm not psychic,I just see through people
I would say no more than 5 weeks, although its hard to see in the first pic,the light is diffused off his eyes in some pics and looks like they still have the membrane over them.
Although size has no bearing on their age it can be difficult to tell.

I've had feral kittens that were supposed to be 9 weeks and yet they were the size of three week olds but fully formed and very active like 8-9 week old kittens (with rather large heads) but in miniature....unfortunately they died overnight

he is cute and tiny, and like everyones said it depends on the nutrion and everything and also if its going to be a small, medium, or big sized cat so I would say bout 6-7 weeks maybe because my oldest brother got a kittten for his kids because someone stole their pomapoo doggie, and he post signs and everything and someone ripped every single one down but she is soo tiny as well and she is 10 weeks, so much smaller than my stormie lol but it all depends on everything but he is soooo cute so he is young and ya i agreee with everyone he could be between 5-7 weeks old at the most possibly !

He is adorable! Have you thought of a name yet?

I would guess that he is five or six weeks old.

KMR? Could someone enlighten me as to what that is? I don't believe that I've ever heard of it.

KMR is Kitten Milk Replacement that you feed to abandoned, orphaned kittens. It's a replacement for thier mother's milk and very vital to them for the first 2-3 months. You can get it at Wal-Mart or any pet store

Do you think that my kitten should be recieving that? He seems to be eatting the kitten food okay. But I'll pick up some kmr if you think he needs it.

There's no place like home
He looks to be about 6 weeks old. His tail is still pretty short and someone correct me if I'm wrong - don't their legs and tail get suddenly longer at about 8 weeks old? You know that age when they get gangly all of a sudden?

I had a kitten dumped on me that was a lot smaller than yours, probably 4 weeks old. I failed to give him KMR (my bad, long story) and he was a tiny cat with health problems until he hit about a year old. He sprouted at a year and now he's the 3rd largest cat in my house. He went from "Little Oscar" to "The Big O".
