Prego and Polly smell nice, I don't know how to describe it other than nice. There is this one tech at my vet's office that always smells Polly and says how nice she smells. I don't put anything special on them, so I guess they just pick up the smell of the house. Scot likes to burn incense and has a scenter thing on our furnace filter, but that doesn't seem to be quite what they smell like.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
Ok, this is probably gonna sound crazy....but a few times, I've been in the back of the house, and I've heard DH say to the kitties who are crawling all over him, "mmmm, you smell like mommy"

that just melts my heart..... I know he's referring to my Theirry Mughler perfume Alien Alien but still....just to hear him call me mommy is enough to make me gush. But I'm sure it's cause, well Louie is always under my feet when I spray, and I always cuddle/hug & kiss them before I leave the house

Right now he smells like the shelter he came from.
I haven't tried to bathe him yet. I just wanted him to settle down. It's coming soon though....and then he'll smell like strawberries... yum...

Mine smells so good that I keep telling myself over and over "ah, he really doesn't need to have a bath". I am very embarrassed to admit this and it is not that I do not take great care of my pet, but really, if he smells good, does he need a bath? He really does clean himself all the time. Ever since he fell into the tub with me I have avoided this like the plague.

Mine usually smell like fresh laundry because they hang out on the bed (and as I stated in another thread - the comforter cover gets washed once a month).

This is the opinion a lot of cat lovers hold, so I wouldn't worry about it. Thank goodness we've never had to completely bathe any of ours, though some spot-cleaning has been necessary from time to time.

Some people do bathe their cats regularly, often if they have allergies, for showing, or in the case of a few very ingenious people, they start them young and bathe occasionally so that if it's ever necessary - it's not a nightmare for all concerned.

I just went and sniffed Wonton's fur.. he smells vaguely cattish, but not in an unpleasant way. He's actually a pretty clean boy. So yeah I'd say he smells neutral-to-slightly-cattish, but it's not an unpleasant smell
When he's been snuggling with R all night, and then he comes over to me, he smells like r's cologne

My cats smell like cats. I love the smell of cats but I dont think it reminds me of anything other then cat. Bagheera and Annie had/have the strongest smell and I just take a good sniff every once in a while.

And here I thought I was the only one that loves to smell kitties!

Charlotte never smells the same. Sometimes she smells like clean laundry, sometimes like poop, sometimes like kitty food. Whatever mischief she gets into usually leaves an impression in her fur. My favorite is when she smells like my boyfriend's cologne after he's been cuddling with her.

Well i have been away from the forum for a few days, but was really intrigued by this thread and just had to look

Mmm...Izzy is always washing so she smells of cat dribble, Jake is always drinking out of the garden pond so he smells of 'pond water', Tigger and Jaz smell lovely.

And i thought i was the only one who showed strange behaviour around cat fur
Mmmmm........breathe in that lovely sweet Jaz/Tigger aroma

AAAAAGGGGHHHH - EPONA POSTING

Hehe, only just seen this, page 4 already!

I really can't pin down what Radar smells of. He smells the same all the time, it's not like it comes and goes depending on what he's been rubbing against or lying on.

It's slightly sweet and slightly floral.

I love sticking my nose in his fur and do it every time he's close enough to my face.

Not at all! BF and I love to 'snort' kitty belly - Sláine and Molly are both great for a premo 'hit'.

I was cuddling Abby earlier and noticed that the top of her head smelled like butterscotch. She had been licking the empty container of maple walnut ice cream.
