Why is it that I can fill up Harley & Davidson's water bowl with fresh water, put in a few ice cubes, and fill myself up a glass of water with some ice in it as well, and they will NOT drink from their bowl, but would rather be sticking their furry faces in my water glass instead!? Right now Harley currently has his little head stuck inside my glass drinking away, while he has perfectly good water in his nice clean bowl! He watched me fill up their bowl.... he must know that I'd just end up getting myself another glass of water instead and just let him have this one.

Oh the wonderful life with cats

Its more fun to squeeze your head into a glass than just drink out of a bowl! I guess they just like tight spaces!

Mackenzie.....you do know that your water tastes better than theirs, right?!!
Try it...taste their water from the bowl and then taste yours. You'll see the difference. LOL I actually don't have that problem on my end. But...have you ever thought of getting them a cat fountain. My 3 cats love theirs.

My boys would probably use it as a cat bath instead of its intended use!
I'd be really afraid to see what would happen if I got one of them!

Phantom would have a mess with a fountain too! She has enough fun with the automatic waterer!! One little splash is all it takes to have her playing in it! But you can't get mad because they are just so darn cute!!

My boys do the same thing! And love to drink from the tap! They have their own kitty water cooler - don't dare get them a running fountain! The water fights would be unbelievable!

Thats exactly what mine would do, too. I eventually started making them their own glass of water and now thats all they will drink out of. So I have glasses of water at different locations throughout the house. And they must be on a tabletop, not the floor, or they wont drink.

Radar's the same, would much rather have a slurp from my glass of water than his own bowl. I wouldn't mind but he does have a tendency to tip them over while he's drinking.

When he was little he got almost all of himself into a pint glass, knocked it over, and rolled across the table in it. Now he's bigger if he wants to do any rolling about he has to use the wastepaper bin... it's one of his favourite games, rolling around the floor in the bin.

Duh Meowmy! Cause your water tastes better!!!

Why will my two each get there own plate with the EXACT same stuff on it (i.e. a few cut up pieces of boiled chicken) and they will each eat off of their own plates, then switch places and eat off of the others?! As if there is something different on the other plate????

Quill would rather play in his water bowl than drink it, I'll hear him splashing and chirping away when no one is looking. He'll come up to me with his fur wet from head to tail and I'll wonder if he enjoyed it so much that he fell into the darn thing!
He prefers Eau du Toilette, naturally .... he's a toilet drinker!

My boys do that too! When I give them their wet food in their own personal bowls, they'll both switch before eating, just to make sure one doesn't have something better!
Its always the same! Its like that with their treats too, when I give them their Feline Greenies and one Whiskas Temptation every morning, they both switch and eat the others treats, not the ones I give them.
Its still the same boys!

Maybe try sitting the bowl next to you and then they will think its yours and so then it will taste better to them

When Polly was littler she used to like drinking out of water glasses. I hope this doesn't gross anybody out, but I just shared with her. Now, she gets all her water from her food so she doesn't drink out of glasses anymore. (Because of her condition, she needs to drink as much as possible, and the easiest way I've found to accomplish this is to add it to her food.)
