We use the good china.
we also use the good china when we have made a nice dinner for the two of us, or when company comes over (no matter who) or for holidays.

Why not use it? I want my money's worth out of it!

The good china sits in the china closet and I only use it three times a year.
Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter...makes me wonder why I spent all that money on it in the first place

I'm also glad to see I'm not the only one with 'good' silverware!

At my house, we eat with regular plates.
At in-laws, it's paper plates

I always used to use my good china, silverware, crystal, fancy serving dishes etc. However, with the family growing the way it has the last few years, when all the kids and their kids are over, too many to fit around one table. I've done a couple of times with paper plates, and the last couple of times was buffet style and you grabbed a seat at whichever table had an opening! Although we did use the good china last time at Thanksgiving.

I now have autumn themed china that I can use this time of year. For Christmas I have the "chargers" that I can use under my stonewear.
The only time I use paper plates is for an open house when I don't have enough real dishes. I have my mom's old sets of everyday silverware so I have plenty for company-I rarely use plastic forks and such!! I went I bought lots of wine glasses and glasses for mixed drinks too so no plastic needed!!

Christmas lunch is good china, all other holidays are normally bbq's so paper plates are used then.

Makes sense to me, some paper plates are better than others. Like Chinet ones are nice.
