Oscar does this pawing thing whenever he wants something. He sticks his paws at and bats at us. Especially when we are eating and he wants human food. Is this a sign of aggression or is it just because we have something that he wants?

I don't think it's aggressive. My cats do it when they want attention, usually when I'm focused on the computer.

Psyche will paw our faces to get us to look at her or when she wants to lick/groom us, or when she wants pets. I don't think it's aggressive; as long as his claws are sheathed he's probably just trying to get your attention.

It's not aggressive if the claws are not out.

Gizmo will reach out and paw me when she wants attention, or when she wants me to keep petting her when she's in the kitty palace!
