Will you buy/read this book? - Page 2

I probably should know this, but I don't - with his acquittal, they didn't end up putting some innocent person in jail did they? I can't remember that anyone else was tried for this crime - I sure hope not!

I wouldn't waste my money on this trash!

As I was watching CNN last night, the LAPD said that they are still investigating the case. Perhaps OJ said something really stupid in the book bringing new evidence to light. It's my understanding that that is the only way he can be retried for the crimes.

Jeesh `still investigating the case'. My Goodness. All they have to do is pick up a copy of the latest book and they'll have who did it. The even worse thing is that all KNOW he did it, they KNOW he's guilty, and there's really nothing they can do.

I guess what OJ doesn't realise is that there's a whole lot of law enforcement officers, investigators, criminal, psychological and legal professionals out there who are a lot smarter than he is. I hope with all my heart someone finds something in that book that will put him away once and for all, despite him trying to be clever by making it all hypothetical. I don't know that I ever believed in true evil in a human being before, but I am really starting to now, unfortunately.

Breaking News...

Fox Broadcasting Corp. (Note, NOT Fox News, but the parent company that owns them...It wasn't Fox News that did the interview or planned to air it.) has decided not to publish the book through one of its subsidiary publishing companies, nor will it air the interview with OJ. There was so much public outcry that they decided that it wasn't worth it.

Here's a link to the story: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/061120/tv_si...view.html?.v=4

Seriously, you'd think these folks would have used a little thing called AFORETHOUGHT when this idea was presented to them.

Awwww...poor OJ...now you're going to have to find another way to raise the 3 million dollars you owe your victim's, I mean murdered wife's family.

Another story link: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,230838,00.html This has more from the publisher at Harper Collins, and the one who did the actual interview about why she did what she did.

"What I do know is I didn't pay him," Regan said in an eight-page statement titled "Why I Did It" and released on Thursday. "I contracted through a third party who owns the rights, and I was told the money would go to his children. That much I could live with."

Regan also said in the statement that she wanted Simpson's "confession" because she herself was once a victim of abuse.

"I made the decision to publish this book, and to sit face to face with the killer, because I wanted him, and the men who broke my heart and your hearts, to tell the truth, to confess their sins, to do penance and to amend their lives."

CNN.com says that O.J's book and special has been pulled. I think it's a good thing... what you think?

How can any of this help his children? What father with his children's welfare in mind could think that writing a book basically confessing to murdering their mother would be good for them?

Wonderful! I'm so glad they canceled it, because it was the right thing to do.

They have - even though it's been canned, he received an option fee and pre-payment for the rights. Somehow I don't think that will be going towards the people he owes it to after his last trial didn't go so well...

You've read my mind Karen....my breaks for those poor kids, and their mom's & Ron's family....

It's inconsiderate, cruel to his own children, and a desperate attempt to make a dollar while sparing no expense of pain to his own kids....

That's really not surprising. He butchered his kids' mother right outside the house, and left her bloody corpse displayed on the walkway for his kids to discover. Luckily, a neighbor's dog found her (and presumably Goldman) before the kids got up and went looking for her. What a self-centered SOB.

Just saw another article, wherein he admitted that he did the book "just for the money". Must be hell, trying to live on JUST a $50,000 per month NFL pension, that's judgement-proof I guess that searching for "real killers" on Florida golf courses gets expensive.

I heard also that he knew it was blood money, but that he was doing it for his kids. What kind of crack does a person have to be on to think their kids want to read a book about how their own father might have killed their mother? Or that those kids would even want this book to exist for other people to read? I'm sure the money's great, but I'm willing to bet my left ventricle that those kids would rather have their mother back.

Wanting to "provide for his children"? He TOOK AWAY the most important thing - their MOTHER.

After following the Ramsey case (kind of hard not to do here), I think all he would have had to do was write a book about how he was looking for the killer. That would have brought in the money even if it didn't have anything to say.

This is just cruel and unsavory.
